He is under contract through 2025, no?

Putting aside this made up $400 million dollar number (over 5 years, lol), I guess you'd be an example if you also think he should win MVP.

1.5 years or not… if we don't pay him what he wants/deserves, someone else will. That's the business.

this is why I think $400m over 5, money and contracts keep going up,

Don't see anybody who thinks he should win MVP also arguing he's not worth a contract he's due to sign in a year and a half at the earliest.

Well he can't even negotiate a new contract until he's completed 3 years in the league...

Yep. He'll be able to negotiate a new deal going into that season.

You could almost write a movie, you just don't see that much poise, he looked like a 10 year vet game 1. Then the injury, and would he play this year, well he was back way ahead of schedule and balling. So it's been nothing but extremely impressive. We got a chance for a Purdy parade here, in Feb.

If this was a movie, it would seem over the top improbable. Almost like a corny Disney movie but it's actually happening. Lol it's wild.

God I hope we top this year off with the SB. Will be a magical season.

The movie needed that part of the Heroes journey where he had a big ordeal to overcome, so the injury last year needed to happen for the betterment of the story.

that's exactly it and it was vs Hurts / Eagles, we will see them again, that's just storytelling 101
we know you like to tell stories

this story has it all

Just this page, I see this: He is going to be very wealthy, even if his pay is not in the top 10.
and: My guess is he will accept a comparatively modest contract to keep the team together.

I hear those sentiments a lot, basically he's top shelf, except not when it comes time for contract, he'll give us a deal
Could happn.. imo he's already giving us the sweetheart deal now, we are on it as we speak, if anything, we owe him, not the other way round.

Saying you think it's possible he takes less money (primarily because you want him to take less money) has nothing to do with whether or not you think he's worth the money.

If he plays this well I 100 percent think he's worth a fair market deal. I still would love it if he signed for less, and hope he does.

I think he'll get what he deserves, which isn't outside of top 10 money
Consider Lance was $34m. I think BP is not $4. So BP is about $30m behind a top of draft player. That's the sweetheart deal, it's in progress now.
JG got record money, it's about the newest contract. I would expect Brock to be at or near record dollars. Particularly with a MVP and or SB in the case. I'd like to see that he'd be worth every penny. In short order, those record deals look pretty cheap. Ppl have already discussed Mahomes needing to have that deal redone, it's too cheap.

None of us knows what he wants.

I hope we sign him for as low as possible. That doesn't mean I think he won't be worth paying top dollar.

Come 2025 we will see. I love this kid. If he is playing at this level or greater in 2025 we will be paying him.

MVP....possibly. I think CMC should also be considered.

100 percent. Hopefully he'll take a team friendly deal but we will not know until then.

I want what's best for the team, but I want to see a guy get what he deserves also. I wouldn't begrudge him if he takes a record deal, I'd celebrate that for him. As we saw with JG it started as a record deal and by the end he was making like $27m and top QBs are at like $50-55m so it got pretty mid tier pretty fast. I do notice tho the contrast between how good ppl say he is and what ppl expect on the contract. On the contract, ppl go by the Steve Ruiz ranks
As you mention, ppl aren't saying he deserves that due to his play, and I understand that part

You're making a nonsensical connection. People are generally talking about what they hope he signs for, not what he deserves. Again, you can think he deserves top dollar because of his play and hope for and want him to sign for less. He may not be motivated to sign the biggest deal. Maybe he is. Jimmy G has nothing do with it because they are different people with different motivations.

Yep....so let's see what he does over the next 1.5 years. He is playing at an MVP level right now. The only real argument is the fact that he is playing in a Shany system with lots of weapons.

I personally think that is BS since historically successful QBs have a high end coach and weapons.

What's the nonsensical connection? I understand full well that hoping he takes less, is no indictment on his play.
