He's saying you don't see nearly as much of it in college cause it's usually not required.

"Those are two things that Purdy does at a really high level that didn't show up on his college tape."

Negative. He was only really making a generalization about CFB for pretty much all QBs,...not coming down on him for what he didn't "show" in college.

Relisten and the point is clear.

Back before the mid-late 2000s, 99% of players lied about their height and weight. They inflated them to make them sound like better prospects. I've met montana, and sure he was older and most likely shrunk some, but I highly doubt he was ever 6'2. Lol

this is why I always laugh when people
try to say Brock is small. He's really not. He's just
not huge like Trevor Lawrence but he isn't small like drew Bree's, Russell Wilson, or Bryce young. He's along the ACTUAL heights of a majority of players.

Every single height/weight I've seen of Steve is 6-2 215lbs

I mean overall for the QB position he's below the avg…6'2 1/2 and 219lbs is the avg as of January 2023.

not sure how you can say Brees is small at 6'1 213lbs, but Brock at 6'0 5/8 212lbs isn't?

overall I don't really care…doesn't seem to be an issue.

I've stood next to Drew Brees, he is definitely not six feet tall. He doesn't even hit me at the shoulder and I am six foot six. He's five ten, maybe five eleven, tops.

Ya there's no way Brees is 6'1", that s**t is laughable

Along with his rare accuracy and signature birthmark, Brees is also known for his subpar height (by pro standards). There's the story of his weigh-in at the NFL Scouting Combine still floating around, in which Brees allegedly glared at the league examiner measuring him until the score was changed from an initial 5-foot-11 and 7/8 of an inch to this official reading of 6-foot-0 and 1/4 of an inch.

Agree, Purdy's physical characteristics don't awe people like a Trey Lance kind of physique, but also QB is the hardest position to evaluate. It's hard to separate QB's performance from the WR's performance (as an example). So many first round busts are an example of just wrong or incorrect evaluations of QB's.

Purdy is ShanaLynch's get out of jail card when they blew the Trey Lance pick. He's a great combinations of arm accuracy, football IQ, enough speed and athleticism, and of course a great and mature personality. To me he's just a taller, and more mobile Drew Brees.

That's exactly what we want!

Brees has never been listed over 6 foot and has never been over 210lbs.

Brock and Young are about the same height.

Lol for a second I thought you meant Bryce young, I was like Bro.. you're smoking rocks. Hahahah

yeah, Brock and Steve young are similar size.

at the end of the day, their sizes are perfectly fine. More than adequate. I don't consider Steve young or Brock "short". They're not "tall" either - they're just average, IMO.

both have shown that it's a non issue, so who cares. I feel like the throwing motion is more of an issue than their height, like Herbert's (if he hasn't fixed it).

And Russell Wilson was 5-11 and that didn't seem to negatively impact him.
So then why are we still on height? Lol.

Hopefully getting passes tipped is an area he'll improve in.

Unfortunately in a 3-step drop this will always be a risk and will happen occasionally i don't see any way around that but its nothing to worry about

I wouldn't worry about it either. Especially when a 6'6" QB leads the league in batted/tipped passes. That stat probably isn't due to a height issue but more about the pass protection and the QB staring down his receivers.

Tall people always underestimate others' heights lol
