Really what should be the key to Purdy being the real deal is that this is the very first QB in decades that actually united Niners fans. No beat writer, no coach, literally no one is as hard on 49ers quarterbacks as 49ers fans (and I'm not saying that's a bad thing necessary, it's just a fanbase that really values and knows the QB position.)

Kap didn't unite the fan base?

Kap had a lot of haters that were Alex smith loyalists

Never did, it's a QB award

I was personally happy when Kap took over for Alex, but like Young2Owens said - there were a lot of people still pro Alex.

Alex and Jimmy had a lot of similarities, both were predictable and conservative - rarely went for the big play. Really just relied on the guys around them to make a play instead of them making a great throw to make a play.

eff both of em - I'm thrilled with Brock and this is the most united this fan base has been since 20+ years. It's a beautiful thing *Donnie Brasco Voice*

It's garbage I hate that. For a non-QB to win, they have to have a HOF season i.e. Adrian Peterson. And even then it's really rare.

Because Dak plays for Dallas. He'll s**t the bed against one of the teams in their remaining schedule, but Brock has to play consistent the rest of the way and we have to go undefeated to secure the #1 seed in order for him to even have a shot at it imo

yeah, I personally think CMC should be in high consideration, but it's really a QB award at this point. He would have to do something crazy like 1800 rushing yards and 800 receiving. maybe 2k rushing yards.

I'd love brock to win it but the one I really care about is the super bowl MVP. I wonder if brock gets snubbed, if it'll motivate him in the playoffs. more than likely, we will play the cowboys again. Hopefully it's at home and hopefully our defense is at full force. I like the way we matchup with them.

They're a better team than they were at week 5, but so are we. I love our chances. Our defense would feast against Daks play style. Our DBs are playing great and Chase young has helped solidify the D line.
Brock is shining hard and deebo is prime deebo right now.

They have the OPOY award for non QB's. CMC vs Tyreek as of right now.

Yup, just like the Heisman has turned into a QB award.

my off season prediction was the 49ers vs Bills in the super bowl. Bills are getting hot right now and I think they beat dallas this upcoming week - I believe it'll be a snow game.

I still think it'll be 49ers V Bills in the superbowl but the Ravens have a really good chance. I can see the Bills V Baltimore in the AFCC
"Perhaps the most remarkable part though is that Purdy won't even need the benefit of a 17th game to break that record. After his 368-yard outburst Sunday against the Seahawks, Purdy is now sitting at 3,553 passing yards for the year. That alone is the 13th-highest mark in 49ers history.

Purdy is also averaging 273.3 passing yards per game this season. That number would put him at 4,373 passing yards across 16 games, clearing the franchise record of 4,278 set by Jeff Garcia in the 2000 season.

If he keeps that pace over 17 games he'd obliterate Garcia's record with 4,646 yards."

Love that he may break it before the 17th game, to give it even more credibility in comparison to past 49ers qbs.

Dak could win the MVP race but still end up in 2nd place when Brock wins SB MVP.

if Kupp didnt win it when he had the triple crown no skill position will win it outside an LT type of year

He united fans? I am pretty sure a month ago he was still dividing fans. Its awesome he is playing like a top 3 QB, but the 2nd he falters fans will turn on him like they did to every other QB in the last 20 years.
