Really what should be the key to Purdy being the real deal is that this is the very first QB in decades that actually united Niners fans. No beat writer, no coach, literally no one is as hard on 49ers quarterbacks as 49ers fans (and I'm not saying that's a bad thing necessary, it's just a fanbase that really values and knows the QB position.)

Kap didn't unite the fan base?

Kap had a lot of haters that were Alex smith loyalists

Honestly there's still some Brock haters (or simply not all in) still. If a couple losses come, they will come out of the woodwork. Everyone loves everyone when they're winning consistently and actually putting pts on the board.

That is not what the statistical rankings show. Have you not seen the stat rankings that guys like Lombardi and Chapman have posted over the past few weeks? I mean this offense is greatest show on turf good, 2004 Colts good. Brock is on pace to break HOF QB records this season. Dak has played really well but not as good as Brock.

It's not just stats at face value AFAIC....especially when it comes to some of these 'advanced stats' because some of them are a joke to me. I also consider the surrounding talent. It's somewhat irrelevant to me whether Prescott or Purdy get the award....personally I believe CMC is the MVP of the 49ers offensively.

He should. He'd be my choice for the 49ers.

lol I remember them. I think a few left with him to become KC fans IIRC.

I mean before the kneeling stuff. His first yr or two I feel like we were all pretty excited, no?

No, I think Kap only begun to unite the fanbase with his wins against GB and Carolina. Even in the GB game, a lot of us were pissed with how he threw an INT at the start.

2013, don't recall us rallying behind him in particular either, especially with how Seattle set the tone early that season.

Sounds you weren't on board lol. Like I said you will never find a fan base 100% behind their QB at all times. Just how it works

I think cmc is the key to this offense being so explosive but we have to keep in mind that Brock is playing the position at a really high level and taking advantage of the talent around him at a historically efficient rate.

replace darnold with Brock and we are probably not looking at having the 1 seed. I imagine we would still be good but I highly doubt anywhere as good as our offense is now.

if we lose either of them, we are in serious trouble, but if I had to choose - I'd rather have Brock. I like our chances with Brock and no CMC more than I like our chances with darnold and CMC.

it would really suck and have a big drop off if we lost either of them but QB is still the most important position and I think our chances of winning it all are higher with Brock and no cmc Vs darnold and cmc. Just my opinion. I pray to god neither happens.
I don't get too wrapped up in the statistical ranking or all time numbers because the game is so different than it was in the 80s. Nearly every rue change since then has helped the offense and hampered the D. We also have one more regular season game now so season totals are bound to be greater. I remember when they went from 14 to 16 games. Thousand yard rushers were no longer a big deal.

The only thing that's important is winning it all this year. Individual awards are fine but the Lombardi is what it's all about. Brock would much rather have that than the MVP.

I was on board. I think most fans were. Kap added an explosive dynamic that we sorely lacked with Alex. There was a portion of the fan base that thought Alex was finally turning the corner and playing good ball. I personally hated how conservative Alex was and bad on third down.

Until someone plays at an elite level consistently and wins a chip, there will always be a crowd of whiners. Just the way it is, I don't think that's unique to our fan base.

Dak plays for the Cowboys, that's why.

Since Brock will most likely take down the all most passing yards in 49ers history before game 17, I find that impressive, but you're right that it's a completely different game. It SHOULD of been broken years ago if we had better qb play. All the rules benefit the QBs and O these days.

I'm greedy and want all our guys to win the accolades but I'll take no reg season awards and the super bowl mvp 😎

I got on board after he proceeded to kick GB's ass lol. It's very hard for the niners' qb not to become my favorite player, unless there's a Frank Gore there.

Purdy though, I do think has united the fanbase, which is crazy considering how volatile the offseason was.

im still confused how people wanted Lance after what we saw with Purdy in 2022 it made no sense to me
