Lol so wholesome.

He comes off as such a goody goody but in reality, he's an assassin for god. He goes straight crusade times on defenses - slaughters them in the name of the lord.

He can really be the niners version of Curry. Both unassuming, Curry doesn't have LeBrons freak genetics and Purdy doesn't have Mahomes rocket arm, but both are f**king assassins.

Lots of similarities for sure. It's funny because to me Steph's NFL comparison was Mahomes due to the unique 'never seen before' aspects of their game.

Steph never had the bad look outburst that Mahomes had yesterday. Closest was the mouthpiece throw game 6 in Cleveland 2016, and his wife saying the games were rigged when they lost that series. Lol.

Agree with both, but the QB position is so hard to evaluate. Even a genius Offensive Guru like Kyle has made QB mistakes (Patrick Mahomes) and Brock - being drafted dead last. Brock - I totally agree - is the lotto pick. Totally unexpected and extremely rare talent that's generational. You don't get talent like that - even if you had 10 number one draft picks each of the last 5 years in my opinion. I think he's that rare a talent.

About once every 20 years there comes a montana/Brady type qb. I really think we are about to witness a QB of their caliber again - one that just leads their team to the promise land over and over again.

its WAYY too early to tell with Brock but he just has that vibe to me.

Your feeling and the stats agree. He's had generational stats since last year.

For me, it's more than the stats though. It's how he reads defenses, progresses through his reads, composure, accuracy, play making ability, conspire etc. it just "feels" right to me. Everything about him screams "special player". He doesn't necessarily look like one but neither does Aaron Rodgers or montana, until they were.

people will say I'm getting ahead of myself and I really don't care. I know there are YEARS more of things we need to see before that can even become remotely true but I think that is what'll happen. I'd bet we win at least 3-4 rings in the next 7-8 years

I've seen enough. He has no weaknesses to his game and executes plays the way a good play designer envisions his play to work. As long as he has competent weapons, he will put up production numbers. That wasn't a slight, all good QBs need playmakers to throw to.
The only thing left for me to see is more performances in end of game situations. By my count he is 2 for 2 so far (vs LVR 2022, vs CLE), where he led a drive that led to a makeable game winning FG, but it was missed.

Yeah, if we really want to compete and try to do what KC has done recently or the 49ers of past, we have to keep the team loaded. As great as Mahommes is, he's struggling to put up 17+ this year.

his contract and the way it can be structured during an extension, should be more than enough to keep
this core together for another 4-5 years Min (plus I trust the team to keep drafting/developing well. They've been doing it for 7 years now).

i don't really doubt his late game agility, he even did it in college. Truthfully, I have no issue with him
nit being in more late game situations for a while because all he is doing is building chemistry with his guys and getting experience against defenses and executing plays. I think him remaining calm is a non issue, it's more of just the reps and experience and jr should me just fine.

You've been saying it all offseason and I've been resisting it but right about now I am leaning towards agreeing with you. My standard has always been beat Hurts and beat Mahomes. It looks like Brock may be able to do just that. He's already beaten one. He wins this chip and I'm sold that he belongs in the big three of 49er QBs of all time!

I've been saying it since the beginning and my conviction has just grown stronger throughout this season. Everything about the Brockkyle combo seems special to me. We can talk about the stats and all that, and there are a lot of great accomplishments already, But it passes the eye test - if you know what I mean.

this isn't just some gimmick situation where they're surprising people. This is just purely great qb play, in a great scheme, with great talent. What Brock and Kyle have been doing is just smooth, effective, beautiful ball.

we've seen Kyle operate with jimmy and get a lot of wins. Rack up stats etc but nothing they did compares to what Brock and Kyle are doing and how they're doing it.

if I'm wrong, so be it, but I've always been obsessed with great qb play and have watched it a lot on other teams and old film. This is it.

I didn't use that much for Jimmy. Jimmy G doesn't throw too many touchdowns. But he historically won games over time at least.

Optimists are 95% right, because most pessimists are wrong most of the time when they predict bad things happen.

Agree 💯% and I'll just add - so far (knock on wood) he's been pretty durable and came back from a season ending injury months before he was scheduled to come back from. Jimmy would have had several injuries by now and would be on IR, if he was still a 49er.

I saw both Steve and Joe play, and Brock's right up there with them in terms of touch, timing and accuracy. For a second (actually a season or two) Colin also looked the part. The problem with Colin was his lack of dedication and focus towards his profession, and the fact that the 49er front office was atrocious in drafting. Jimmy was a good QB for the 49ers, but he had his issues - lack of accuracy, injuries, and bad mechanics. Jeff Garcia had a crap organization to play for. All in all the Combo of ShanaLynch and Brock Purdy is proving lethal to the NFL.

Agree 💯%, and I'll just add this about weapons. Joe didn't have any weapons in 1982 and went 3-6. I think if Brock only had Jauan Jennings, Ray Ray McCloud, and Ronnnie Bell, I think he'd still make this offense sing - as long as he had Mitchell and Mason. I think this offense will still be scoring in the mid twenties with that personnel.
