Well NY has a high standards with regard to arms strength. If the QB can't throw it 100 air yards, it's a minus arm.

Good thing I said "deserving" .

Same thing, lol.

No one is deserving just yet. Give it a few more weeks.

Bad look for Mahomes today at the end of that game and in the postgame comments. 4 L's in 6 weeks now.

Shows me Mahomes can't handle losing.

I think that's what you want out of your All-Pro QB....lol.

Crying like an entitled brat? Shifting blame? That's not what I want from a qb on my team. The audacity of his smugness was palpable.

I love to see a guy that hates losing like that if that's my QB. All the talent you want out of your QB is obviously there. But Kelce's beginning to come out of his prime and they've got nothing else.

If it's being a brat, then it's being a brat. Much better than the IDGAF guy we had just a couple seasons ago as our lead guy.

Don't forget how Purdy has "regressed to the mean"

at least it looks like it to me, I could just be trippin. His arm never looked like it had any issues to me but it seems to have improved over the year.

Saying someone "deserves" something and saying someone is "deserving" are two very different things.

Even if he has a letdown game down the stretch, he's worthy of being in the MVP convo, regardless of if he wins it or not.

Yeah, it's embarrassing. It's one thing to be upset that the play was nullified, it's another when it's clearly your guys fault.

i think mahomes reaction was more of a buildup on how the last few weeks Have went. His WR dropped the wide open game winner against Philly.

then the refs miss a blatant PI call last week that would of given them a great chance to win it.

now this week they call something that they were allowed to , and should have, but apparently they usually give a warning.

the losses are weighing on him. He knows that over the last three weeks, they've lost control of the first round bye and it's weighing on him.

Agree with both, but the QB position is so hard to evaluate. Even a genius Offensive Guru like Kyle has made QB mistakes (Patrick Mahomes) and Brock - being drafted dead last. Brock - I totally agree - is the lotto pick. Totally unexpected and extremely rare talent that's generational. You don't get talent like that - even if you had 10 number one draft picks each of the last 5 years in my opinion. I think he's that rare a talent.

About once every 20 years there comes a montana/Brady type qb. I really think we are about to witness a QB of their caliber again - one that just leads their team to the promise land over and over again.

its WAYY too early to tell with Brock but he just has that vibe to me.

Your feeling and the stats agree. He's had generational stats since last year.

For me, it's more than the stats though. It's how he reads defenses, progresses through his reads, composure, accuracy, play making ability, conspire etc. it just "feels" right to me. Everything about him screams "special player". He doesn't necessarily look like one but neither does Aaron Rodgers or montana, until they were.

people will say I'm getting ahead of myself and I really don't care. I know there are YEARS more of things we need to see before that can even become remotely true but I think that is what'll happen. I'd bet we win at least 3-4 rings in the next 7-8 years

The only thing left for me to see is more performances in end of game situations. By my count he is 2 for 2 so far (vs LVR 2022, vs CLE), where he led a drive that led to a makeable game winning FG, but it was missed.

what about the losses that followed directly after?

Vikings loss:
4th quarter, 5 mins left, down 17-22, Purdy throws a costly INT
:30 seconds left, throws another game-clinching INT

Bengals loss:
4th quarter, 13 mins left down 10-17, INT
(he threw a TD a bit later after that to make it closer FWIW)

fumbled the ball less than 2 mins left in the game but the offense was down by 2 scores at that point anyway.

the Vikings loss though is a small sample size but that should make him 2 for 3 based on your logic

"Of the multiple ways Purdy has elevated an already

talented supporting cast and dynamic offensive
scheme, it's the addition of a successful deep passing
game that has raised the Niners offense to its current
historic trajectories.

Through 13 games, the Niners rank second in the NFL
in offensive points per game (29.2), first in offensive
efficiency (77.58) and offensive expected points added
(119.4), third in passing yards per game (262.7) and
rushing yards per game (139.6) and second in total
yards per game (402.3). They are also posting the
seventh-best defense-adjusted value over average
(DVOA) (35.2%) of any offense ever tracked through a
team's first 13 games.

Despite an outside narrative that Purdy takes dump-
offs and checkdowns for most of his passing yards, the
numbers don't support that notion.
Only 20.4% of Purdy's pass attempts have been at or behind the line of scrimmage, the second-lowest mark in the league.
In those numbers is the revelation that Shanahan has
inherent trust in Purdy to cut it loose more than any
quarterback hes had since arriving in 2017. Before this
season, the Niners' most 30-plus yard attempts in a
season was 2022, when Jimmy Garoppolo tried 12
such deep shots. Garoppolo went 1-of-12.

What's more, from 2017 through 2022, Garoppolo was
6-of-40 with two touchdowns and six interceptions on
throws traveling 30-plus air yards. Purdy already has
more completions and touchdowns in just 13 games
this season.

Indeed, for the Niners the deep ball isn't so much

about quantity as it is quality. Purdy is in the middle of
the pack in terms of pass attempts at the 20- and 30-
plus air yard marks but still ranks near the top of the
league in completions because of his accuracy.

For the season, Purdy is fourth in completions on
throws traveling 10-plus air yards (79) and 15-plus air
yards (51) and fifth in completions on throws traveling
20-plus air yards (24). That's a product of Purdy
ranking second in completion percentage on throws of
10-plus air yards and first in completion rate on 15-
and 20-plus yard throws. He is seventh in the NFL in
air yards per attempt (7.9) while comfortably ranking
first in yards per attempt (9.9), yards per completion
(14.1) and yards per drop back (8.8)."

*chefs kiss* that's our QB 😭

For me personally, those weren't good things to see, but I like what I saw after. Sometimes going into a bye with those kind of performances - especially three consecutive, can really mess with a guy. I love how he's responded and got back on track. At a really high level.

we can sit here and blame the injuries, bad defense etc. but at the end of the day, Brock didn't play great either. He played good most of the game but s**t the bed when we needed him most. It is what it is and I'm glad he experienced that earlier in the season than now.

Overall, I'm really pleased with how he responded. How the whole offense has responded.

Huh? It's 100% the same exact word dude,...the only differences possible are then tense,....Deserving is present tense,...that's what the -ing is for. Saying someone "deserves" something is present tense as well. As in right now. I've said a number of times we have 4 games left. I'm referring to time. There's nothing to hide from here,...you get the point,...lol. Whether you agree or disagree that these last few games can/should be a huge deciding factor, either is fine. But trying to take the same exact word and change its meaning is a huge fail. Dont waste your time there.

Perhaps it is embarrassing for him when it comes to endorsements, etc. I just love that he cares that much. I mean damn,....dude is acting like it's a playoff game. I'd go to battle with a guy like that cause I knows he's giving it his all. I'll take it over this any day.
