I know Purdy himself saids he feels his arm is stronger after the rehab, I think it's more of him in 2nd year of the offense, and he's seeing things even better on the field to hit those deeper routes with timing, anticipation, and accuracy to get more completions.

lol the next gen CPU. Good analogy with Intel being down the street from Levi's.

Just going back and reviewing Brock's passes, it is mind-blowing just how many are of the 35, 40, 45 yds in the air and are usually right on the money. And he isn't throwing just a couple to get the DBs to back off. He throws a lot of them, and right at 50% are completions ,which is just crazy good. Yes he has some terrific ball catchers but man does he ever throw a beautiful 45 yarder. For the close in stuff, or bailouts, those are routinely on target to guys who are goofy great with YAC. Add in his escapability, his knowing when to run (and fortunately not very often), plus his 7th sense in the pocket, his faking (very much like Joe), his instant D reads and even faster knowing where ball has to go…that is the stuff of LEGEND. Not Joe's but his own.
For that to happen, he will have to have tons more playoff wins, and if he wins it all several times or more, LEGEND is right around the corner. So far, we have not seen Brock bothered by anything (other than UCL). He is Joe -like in that it seems nothing bothers him. All the makings are there. Now we just have to sit back and wait and see if he can continue this thru playoffs and SB Ws.
9ers have not been this exciting since Joe and that one yr of Steve's . Brock has got it all…just keep him healthy.

Cowherd had a piece about Shanny and why he deserves to be considered for Coach of the year. Yes he has a lot of talent but he uses it better than anyone. Brock, Aiyuk, Deebo and CMCare all having great years and part of that has to be the way Kyle is scheming these guys open all over the field. Short, medium and deep Or is it a run? Defenses can't cover these guys because he keeps disguising what he's doing.
The Niners have thrown the fewest passes per game of any team in the league but they rank third in pass yardage. I know some is because Deebo and Kittle are YAC monsters but they still need to be ope so Brock can throw to them. Kyle has had to replace 2 really good DCs in recent seasons and they just get better. In head t head matchups with GOOD teams he usually comes out on top.
Great players need great coaching. Great coaches need great players. Thus team has both as well as a good front office and an owner that isnt sticking his nse in all the time. They have everything they need to win. Now do it.

Brock is the next gen CPU that won't bottleneck your super fast RAM(playmaker weapons) and motherboard (Kyle's offense). Imagine if he's an Intel Celeron
Continuing the analogy

Oh and on top of that, I also have to remind myself that he's only played practically a full season and without an off season to begin with. Young man is just 24 and he's doing all these like a seasoned vet. Just a natural and an Unbelievable start on his Pro career.

At this point criticism of Brock is just dishonest (Nick Wright, et al). The raw fact is that they will never allow Brock to live down "Mr. Irrelevant". For them, he was "Mr. Irrelevant" for a reason, so his success has to be due to player and coaching talent. Therefore, Brock will have to "prove too much" to convince them. Bottom line, in the critics eye Brock will not be allowed to live down Mr. Irrelevant unless/until he wins the SB after spotting the opponent a 21 point lead at coin toss, and he'll have to do it 1 against 11 so as to be no doubt that it was he - not the surrounding talent and stellar coaching - that won the game.

I was just thinking about how important it is that we have all our core offensive players: Purdy, Aiyuk, Deebo, CMC, Trent, Kittle, Juice.
Shanahan has catered his offense to the things that make these players special. If you lose a guy to injury, yes, we can make it work, but it hurts when they're out.
- Brandon Aiyuk: Our best route-runner, and probably the best we have on deep routes and just "conventional" WR functions. Has emerged as a true #1 WR-type in this league. Take him away and we don't threaten as much in the intermediate/deep areas of the field. He's also the WR that Purdy has the most chemistry with.
- Deebo Samuel: Like CMC, he's a guy that lines up everywhere and can play both RB/WR. We can exploit matchups moving him and CMC around. Because of these things, both he and CMC have tremendous gravity, opening things up for others guys in a Steph Curry type of way. But not only that, Deebo's a tone setter. The way he runs is so violent and just gets the guys amped up. If you take Deebo out, you lose the gravity, and you lose his energy.
- Christian McCaffrey: Like Deebo, he's a super versatile chess piece that can line up everywhere. Our scheme starts with running the ball effectively, and CMC can run all our runs at a high level. Like Deebo, he has a certain gravity and can just do it all. The guy is a consistent chain mover that also has home run ability. Take him away, and our run game doesn't threaten as much with motion and play action.
- George Kittle: I have a ton of confidence that if George Kittle was played purely as a receiving option and the #1 option, he'd be putting up 1200+ yard campaigns every year. But Kittle is the best run-blocking TE in the league and is like having a 6th offensive lineman on the field. In the Shanahan era, we haven't really fielded a top tier RG and RT, so Kittle will often help out in pass protection there. And we need him and Juice to help out, because without Trent Williams, our offensive line would be a huge liability. He's a match-up nightmare for linebackers and safeties. Take him out, and we'd suffer in pass protection, run blocking, and attacking safeties/LB's.
- Kyle Juszczyk: He's a Swiss Army knife. Can take the occasional quick FB dive. He can catch passes everywhere on the field. Does it all in pass protection and run blocking. And ultimately, just a very smart player. This goes for all of our players, but Juice's pre-snap motion and post-snap movement makes it very easy for us to have a dynamic run game where we can run between and outside of the tackles. Take him out and we just don't have the same smoothness in all the things we do.
- Trent Williams: The anchor of our offensive line. The sheer fact that he can one-on-one a defense's best pass rusher gives us tremendous confidence that we can allocate pass protection resources elsewhere. In the run game, he's just... dominant. To the point that we have a highlight this season of an opposing defensive back running away at the sight of him. Take him away, and the 49ers have to have 6, 7, 8 guys in pass protection at all times, limiting the offense.
- Brock Purdy: The playmaker that sets everything up. Other QB's have had productivity in this system, but Purdy is the QB we have that allows it to start reaching its potential, but also make plays outside of the design. He can hit all the throws with anticipation and accuracy. Take him out and replace him with a lesser QB? This offense would still be effective, but we're limited to whatever areas of the field that QB can attack. With Purdy, he's showing the sky is the limit.

Yes Faithful, but i would also add, Aiyuk, Deebo, #85, the best tandem LBs in the league, Nick, Chase, Arik, Gravedigger et al on the DL, the sum total of our DBs (which was really iffy going into season), our OC/HC, our GM, and being honest, the entire remainder of the team.
One has to give special recognition to ALL the guys who play, including STs, because Kyle keeps everybody involved. There is no one wanting the ball all the time, because every play, every guy on the field has been given a job, and that entails ball handlers blocking LBs, CBs,and DBs, contributing to our awesome YAC. When you look at the "tunnels" opened up for CMC, Deebo, Mitchell, or whoever has the ball, you will see every guy performing his job. And they all have gotten into it….not just Juice who blocks every play, sometimes taking two guys…but everyone does it on O. On D , our DC has a done a masterful job of having the front 4 be the most feared in the league, the LB tandem best in league, and DBs didn't want to be left out so they have over achieved also.
The MVPs for this team are many and the great thing, nobody cares WHO, they are interested in one thing…the Ws. Watching the 9ers since moving to Paso Robles in 1977, I got hooked with GOAT Walsh , Joe, Jerry, JT et al. To see that kind of championship energy and talent again is just unbelievably fantastic. Everybody is involved, everyone has one goal…win on out. Man is that ever fun to watch.

Nice summary. What's also awesome is how bought in they are to the team. The skills players all haul ass to block when they don't have the ball and seem genuinely happy for one another. I was watching a Kyle interview (CSNBC?) and he said that he has told the players that the offense attacks coverages. So who gets the ball depends on the coverage, not because Kyle feels the need to feed a certain player their proper share of touches. I'll try to find it.
