Young, Kurt, Marino, Rodgers>Sham

Stupid hot takes just to have stupid hot takes

ppeople can have their own opinions without us attacking him

to me he just seems to associate playmaking wit athleticism because that's the type of QB he was

I was satisfied with Jimmy for what we traded for him and what we paid for him. I would do it all over again for the production we got outta that 2nd rounder and the money we spent on him relative to the rest of the league. Now when we lost to Mahomes and then to Stafford it was apparent to me that Jimmy could help this team get deep in the playoff but not to win it all. I do believe we could have won with a prime Cam in 2019 because our running game would have been devastating when defenses have to account for Mostert and crew along with Cam in the backfield. We would have ran all over defenses that playoff run even moreso than we did. Cam was not the MVP because of his defense. He was the NFL MVP because of his own play and he took his team to the chip. No he won't make it to the Super Bowl without 52 other men but what he was able to do is nothing to scoff at, especially by a fan like me.

Now all other criticism of Cam is valid as he is not what Brock is as far as the way he plays the game between the ears but those A plus attributes he had sure took him a long way and it had earned him the right to have his say but I just don't agree with it
Can't throw 70 yards, can't run a 4.3 40 yard dash....Yep, must be a Game Manager.

Yes. It is a biased opinion. He clearly sees the game differently than most of us do. There is more than one way to play QB and the beauty of the position is that you do NOT have to be an A plus athlete in order to do it. Montana, though a B plus athlete, clearly outclassed the A Plus athletes of his time in Marino, Elway and Phil Simms. You can play the position and compensate for the tangibles with the intangibles and that is something I am not sure Cam is intimately familiar with. Brady and Brees had just as good if not better careers than did Rodgers and Manning during their times together case in point

And if a QB does not "manage" the game properly I don't want him playing in this offense for us. We are trying to win the chip for god's sake!
Damn! I just realized Cam is the only guy that has:

  1. won a Heisman
  2. won a National championship
  3. won an NFL MVP
  4. went to a Super Bowl

Doggone right he has his right to his opinion just as much if not more than any of us do. I just think that the most important person in 49er land in Kyle Shanahan would vehemently disagree with him about Brock

Would of looked like perfection if #4 was a win and it included a Super Bowl MVP.

Cam had incredible physical ability but imo he came in on fire as a rookie, but almost never improved much from there. Now as his physical ability diminished it showed he couldn't read a defense very well etc.

Massive guess, but id say Cam still believes he can play in the NFL and probably thinks he could kill it with our roster. So that may be his bias in evaluating Purdy.

Having unselfish guys is what makes this roster, don't think Cam would feel at home here. It's easy for him to say this from a sofa. Plus you hit the nail on the head when it comes to reading defenses being the difference. That's what makes Brock Brock.

The irony is people trying to tell Niners fans what a 'game manager is'. We know. That's why we know that Brock ain't that. We invented game managers for eff's sake in the Harbaugh era (no disrespect to Alex but it is what it is).

Lol yeah, I've never understood why some think cam was so amazing. He was just had dynamic mobility - very average passer. Even most Carolina fans will say cam really only had 1 or 2 good seasons. Lol cam frustrated the hell out of steve smith… I wonder if it's cause he was such an amazing QB…

For real, we've been riddled with them for literally decades. Lol if anyone knows what a game manager looks like, we know.
