Brock Purdy is 494 passing yards and 8 passing TD's away from breaking the 49ers all-time single season records, set by Jeff Garcia and Steve Young.

Different eras, but not too bad for a guy in his first full year starting coming off a major injury to his throwing arm. He just might make it, lol.

LOL
I don't think JG was much of a mentor to Brock.

This thread is a litany of all the football "things" Brock does or can do, and i agree with them all…
pinpoint passer,
throws before the receiver breaks,
great faker, great ball handler,
top QBR rating and pass completion % in league,
has 7th sense, much like Joe had when he is about to get crunched
unflappable like joe
But there is one thing no one has noted , which was there the first game Brock ever played for the 9ers. He was put in and already knew the playbook, front to back. This is the cerebral part of Brock, and somehow, it just gets glossed over. Brock knows where each receiver is on every play from the first second to the 2nd second right up until he throws it. He KNOWS where every single guy is supposed to be because he is one smart kid who has the entire playbook deep in his brain pan.
It is at that point that his inherent football skills take over and he rips one to Deebo exactly on the pylon. Ball couldn't have been thrown anywhere else to complete it. Amazing yes, but that is his hand-eye coordination, his football skill set in overdrive. But still , to get there, the "kid" has got to be smart, figure out exactly where the ball has to be, and when…but he knows where every piece is on the board, because besides incredible football skills, our QB, Brock, is one smart cookie.
He comes off looking like a high school kid, "aw shucks" type, but this dude is something else at a very early age. He is smart, humble, with unbelievable football skills and a brain that soaks up a D, analyzes it, and instantaneously makes the correct read and throw. I haven't seen that in a long , long time.
We haven't seen it. But he's here now, he's ours, and we are all on the Brock train. Not to disparage #85, #19, #23, #11, #15 , #44 nor anyone else on the team. John and kyle have built us a powerhouse, but they have also brought us the thing that will get us SB Ws…a one of a kind QB extraordinaire.

Purdy's high school coach is on KNBR. He's talking abvout how advanced he was in high school at recognizing defenses and leading the team. He said that Brock had mono in his JR years and lost 20 lbs and a lot of strength. He thinks that set him back enough that more schools didn't recruit him. I can relate to that. I had mono in my JR year and couldn't take PE for 2 months. When I wa sfinlly cleared I couldn't do half the stuff I normally could. It knocked the crap out of me.
They asked him what they did to improve his play and the coach answered "the best thing we did was not screw him up"

With the path Brock is paving, by the time he comes out, he'll be drafted high just on the Purdy name

- Deebo 213 receiving yards
would be an amazing accomplishment
That is 45 yards per game for Kittle and 71 yards per game for Deebo. Deebo looks to be the more difficult task but not impossible.
Very doable. Only catch with deebo is like half his yards are usually rushes. Lol
