Chase Daniel brought that up several times. They seemed to be throwing the kitchen sink at him to find anything that might confuse him and he handled it all like a ten year vet.
Watching Purdy's highlights is one thing but what many of his detractors miss are the routine plays. He's doesn't have many bad throws. He gets the ball out quickly and doesn't get sacked a lot even though the O line isn't great at pass blocking. He's a good ball handler as you can see when he hands off to CMC or Deebo. He reads the D and gets the plays off quickly. His passes aren't just completed they're in a spot that allows the receiver to catch the ball easily. He's not fast but his quickness in the pocket allows him to get away from the rush. He's extremely football smart and rarely makes the same mistake twice. He learned Kyle's system very quickly.

All the little things that the national talking heads don't see when they watch the highlights are part of what makes Brock way more than just an average QB. Every QB in the league makes a few highlight reel throws. It's what they do in between those throws that make the difference.

What's an "at home show"? Is that like an info commercial or an event?

Just like a big convention for people to "one stop shop" various contractors and random retailers. You can go in and find vendors who do insulation, painting, garage doors, swimming pools, hot tubs, roofing, solar, home furniture, landscaping, windows and more. Purdy's parents have a pretty well established spa store and have frequented events like this in the past.

Oh that's cool. I saw a segment where they sometimes can't make the game cause they have to run the shop. Lol def not rich

You're in development of commercial property and have never heard of these??!! Lol

Well I've been to a ton of these events but never heard it called "at home" show. Everytbing I've been to is usually at a convention center/hotel

we usually call them by the name of the show - like ICSC etc.

This ICSC.

Yeah, I've never heard it called "at home" - we usually call it by the name of the event or "the conference" "real estate conference" "red River show" etc

If I hear one more talking head bring up the 49ers "elite offensive line" as a reason for why Purdy should receive less credit, I'm chucking my phone into a brick wall.

Yea. That's the dumbest statement I think I have heard to date. I also don't recall Deebo/Aiyuk being on anyone's top 5 WR tandem list before the season started either.

I haven't heard many people praising the Niners O line for their pass blocking. The highlights always show the left side blowing holes in the defense for CMC and Deebo to run through. Deebo has been highly praised around the league for years although his pass receiving has improved this year after he came into camp in better shape. He's known more for his running after the catch.
The Gottlieb take that anyone with more impressive physical "prototypical QB" traits could just plug & play and match or surpass Brock's consistent performances misses the importance of ELITE processing and anticipation and the role it plays in his game. Brock is obviously physically adequate to play at a high level, but his best trait is his brain, his ability to adapt, and his feel for the game. Guys like Gottlieb seem to think all top level QB's (at least top draft picks) possess that in spades.

In Madden they call that the First And Goal defense, on account of the defenders still being able to stop goal line runs despite 8,9, 10 guys in coverage. And I'm pretty sure the acronym is deliberate.

People with a muscle for a brain just aren't satisfied if you don't have superior brawn. If you don't have intellect, you don't appreciate it.

two words,
Trey Lance
I hope all of the physical traits posters on this board realize that for the past few years they sounded just like some of these idiots who continue to discredit Purdy.

I have to defend guys like Gottlieb a little. He's just one of thousands of talking heads and fans that have been conditioned to believe that 40 times and stats are all that count. The NFL has made the combine a weeklong TV event where fans fall in love with big fast guys in shorts. The QBs with the big arm or the ones that run a 4.5 40 or better are hyped while guys like Purdy are barely mentioned. It shouldn't be surprising that it takes awhile for many of them to come around. Some never will. It may take a big performance in the SB before more people start seeing what we see every week.

But now Deebo is 1 of 3 receivers on the team on pace for 1k yards receiving and somehow its everyone else but Brock Purdy who deserves their flowers. Well as far as players anyway. The fact that Kyle isn't a front runner for COY and yet Brock is just a system QB matching/breaking records is pure hypocrisy.
