Let's just be honest…it's all marketing. On the surface Brock just isn't marketable compared to Mahomes/Jacksom/Allen/Hurts/etc.

The capitalistic NFL media needs its QBs to look like your prototypical jock with unique physical attributes so they can sell a sexy image.

Brock looks like an every man, but is balling just as well if not better than those other guys…and the powers that be hate that.

Power to the people and power to Brock!

he already has like 3 tv spots what are you talking about lol

purdy's face is like the most marketable face, imagine this as a commercial

"Mentos, the fresh maker!"

LMAO The PERFECT song for his expression

Given the parity in the league now Brock may never be able to win 4 SBs let alone throw 11 TDs with no INTs.

Style yes. Legacy. Probably hard to ever equal Joe. Even if Brock wins 4 SBs it won't be the same because Joe was the first. He and Walsh changed the face of a franchise that was playing 2nd fiddle to the Raiders back then. It was a magical time for the original SF major sports franchise.
I don't know about that conclusion. Some dude named Tom won 7 championships in the so called *age of league parity.* Be optimistic! the legacy will come.

I explained earlier why the Pats were an exception. It was a perfect storm of weak competition in the division, and continuity that is extremely rare in today's sports. Having a millionaire wife that allowed him to take less pay didn't hurt either.

As much as I would love to see it I really doubt the Niners can win 4 SBs before this team breaks up. Brady also played longer than anyone . I doubt Brock will play 20 years. Few do.

I'd say Joe. That roll out mobility wasn't in Brady's tool box.

Good point about Tom not being as mobile as Joe and Brock!

Oh man why they gotta do stuff like that?
Tom was a bit rigid wasn't he?

Brock Montana

When i first saw Tom, it was pretty much in his first Superbowl. His incredible accuracy struck me in that game. He wasn't mobile they way modern age QBs are nowadays - but he could move when he needed to. His offense is more of the Erhardt-Perkins pass heavy offense, which is pretty much 3+ and 4+ recievers going out on pass patterns. It is much more pass heavy than the typical WCO. I think Bill wanted to take advantage of Toms Superbowl caliber processor, and why Jimmy sucked when he went to the Raiders. (No playaction and less run plays)

Pats were built with the 49er dynasty model. Pete Carroll goes to New England and Robert basically grilled him for the 49ers blueprint on how to create a dynasty, then Robert hires a defensive coaching genius and the guy gets a decent QB named Tom and the rest is history.

The model still will work, its just that you have to work with the cap. And reload and rebuild in between Superbowls vs getting 3-peats and 2-peats like the old dynasty days.

Don't forget a voodoo witch doctor in Alex Guerrero who supplied him with his 'chemicals' that allowed him to preform at a supreme level twice the length of Montana.

If Jimmy wasn't one of the greatest chokers in the history of sports and if Brock didn't hurt his elbow, we might already have 3 SBs with this core group, so I don't think there's anything fundamentally that would prevent us from winning 4 championships with this group other than being unlucky.

In more realistic QB ranks, BP is #1, this is NFL.com:

Purdy continues to do Purdy things. He's an unflappable quarterback who plays with the conviction typical of a 10-year veteran, not a second-year player. His poise was evident throughout Sunday's game, including on a first-half completion to George Kittle. With a free rusher bearing down hon him, remained composed, located the vacated area in the middle of the field and delivered a strike to his tight end. He operated Kyle Shanahan's offense with controlled precision, lighting up Arizona's defense with a consistent combination of throws under pressure and quick passes to receivers, who found soft spots in zone coverage. Purdy had another great day, using the full complement of San Francisco's arsenal to his advantage. It's a rather innocuous summary because he's so steady.

...and Lamar Jackson is ranked #5.

Jackson is prone to occasional bone-head throws like the one that was picked in the Jaguars' game where the DB baited him into a throw that resulted in an easy pick. It was the kind of throw that Purdy just does not make due to his greater field awareness.

Considering how the 49ers demolished the Eagles this year, I really do think Brock would have taken the 49ers into the super bowl and would have won vs Patrick Mahomes and we'd not even have a debate as to who is MVP this year. Oh well.
Clowns on Twitter talking about Tyreek and Tua for MVP. If their dream of Lamar fails. After Dak and Hurts failed. Just anybody to keep Purdy from it.

Some probably would vote for Tommy Devito before they would vote for Purdy.

Probably they would. They are just coming up with excuses now. It's Purdy on body of work across the whole season. Lamar really isn't having an MVP year despite what some fakers in the media and fan bases wan you to believe. His numbers aren't that great.
Are they 'haters' if they said CMC?

2 different eras. Different generations, too. Today's generation will never ever know how the 80's generation felt during the dynasty years. If we start winning Super Bowls again, it's going to be Purdy and company's legacy and today's generation of fans will probably as proud, as ecstatic and as crazy wild or maybe even more of these.
