1. CMC is very deserving of it
2.it would be a huge win for running backs (specifically the highest paid one)
3. Gives Brock an extra chip and motivation at this young point in his career

No non-qb is getting the MVP without smashing a big-time record. I believe Purdy is far more important to this team than CMC. If we lose Purdy, this team is toast, if we lose CMC, we still have a chance to win. I don't think you can even seriously debate that (but don'tlet me stop you from trying). Darnold is ass, we should draft a guy to be backup if we can find one in the middle rounds that we like. Darnold gives me the same feeling that Jimmy did when he drops back to pass. I haven't felt as confident seeing a niner qb dropping back to pass since Montana. This kid looks better through his first season than Montana did. I don't know yet if he has that Clutch gene that Joe did, but he's got everything else. I saw it back then, and what I'm seeing from Brock is very similar. It makes me wonder just how much better can this kid get.

I read the story about CMC's Christmas gifts to the other players and couldn't help laughing at Brock's comments. I know Brock only makes $870,000 per yer but saying that a set of custom golf clubs isn't in his budget is a little silly. He's clearing at least $450K or more. That's some expensive golf clubs. Even if he has a large house payment I'm sure he could buy his own clubs.

To us mere mortals it sounds a little crazy to hear these guys say stuff like that.

That's okay, he can use the bag to carry his MVP trophy around...

I think the odds of a non qb winning it is unlikely but it depends on how these last three weeks go. If CMC finishes the next three games with 150+ yards and 3-4 touchdowns a game, he could snag it. Especially if Brock doesn't get many touchdowns and they all go rushing with CMC.

it's unlikely but I'm just saying I don't think it's a big deal. It could help Brock's development and going into next year, possibly feeling snubbed or wanting to prove that he was deserving.

Nick WRONG just keeps moving the goal posts. We no longer compare him to Jimmy G and say he's a game manager. LOL. He keeps proving he knows nothing about football. WRONG also keeps digging a bigger grave for himself too. Honestly how can you be this dumb about sports and have a talk show? It's incredible really. They probably pay him a lot too.

Its all a gag. He is just egging the zealous niner fans for engagement on social media. Just like Stephen Ruiz and everyone else who realizes how much traffic niners articles get. Just go to YouTube and check the folks who do football content on more than one team. Most of the highest traffic videos are the niner content. Then there's all the Purdy tribute videos starting to pop up everywhere. It's hot topic right now with the team looking so good with a qb only a season and a half in to his career having Jerry Rice comparing him to Joe Montana.

This strategy is just going to split the vote and hand it to Lamar or Dak. Just a terrible strategy. Don't split the vote. It's Purdy period.

I think that each team or its writers should nominate 1 player from their team for MVP, to prevent vote splitting and inferior players winning MVP.

For example, in 1987 MVP votes were split between Jerry and Joe (30 & 18) so Elway wound up winning it with 36 votes. Elway threw 3,000 yards, 19 TDs, and 12 Ints that season. Joe's #s were better across the board, and Jerry had probably the best WR season of all time and the only real shot a WR has ever had at winning MVP.

Yes I agree.

You think so? I think he really believes it.

Were you around in 1984? Marino was freaking awesome that year. Right up to the Superbowl.

The most interesting thing is that only the 10th best season on that list resulted in a Super Bowl win.

Agreed.

These guys are entertainers who call themselves analysts. They care less about being correct and more about provoking a reaction. Negative reactions come harder and faster than positive ones. And that makes them $$. Not all are like that, but the Nick Wrights and Cowherds of the world are pretty obvious.

Marino with the Smurfs and the Duper Brothers. That was One hell of an offensive team for sure. But that offense is two generations behind this one and as others have said, that era is a different one. Having said that, Purdy's impressive in that he is up there with some true legends already. He'll be setting some legendary records once his career deepens.
