Juszczyk is signed until 2027
Deebo is signed until 2027
Ayuk is signed for next year 2024
Kittle is signed until 2027
Christian is singed until 2027.

49ers with close to 40+ million cap currently (Source: AB81) going into 2024. I think they have a good shot at retaining the entire core offense for next year. Wow!
When you see a yards /attempt and note that is just a touch less than the best ever., Peyton's…well , it means that there are a number of Brock passes that are going a long distance. What is even more surprising, is to re-look at Brock's high school highlite reel, and you will see a number of passes going 40 -45- 50 yds in the air for completions
.
So this business about "game manager" and Brock throwing dink and dunk passes is just fooey stupid. Whoever hasn't noticed, Brock was throwing these long balls 4 yrs before he ever landed here. Look at his highlite reel and you will see those babies going down range…and they were on target.

It makes one wonder even more, WTF 31 teams were doing when they passed on Brock 7 times and we almost did, picking him as last guy in the draft. It sure looks like one heckuva lot of "scouts" , GMs, HCs, et al, flat azz missed the boat on Brock. It was there 5 yrs ago and before. Lombardi's chart above just shows what many of us fans have known for some time now.

1) this kid ain't no dink and dunk game manager.
2) Brock is a pinpoint passer and excels at throwing before the receiver breaks.
3).Brock's quick glance reads of Defenses are astonishingly fast and accurate and his in depth knowledge of where each receiver is at each moment of each play are almost not believable.
4) add in that he is what 23? Or is it 22? Doesn't matter. This is a young man playing like a seasoned 30 yr old all pro.

8 yrs of miserable health luck (all bad) has bedeviled us and has seemed as the worst luck ever. Well, we finally evened that out with relatively good health and a sensation at QB. JL and Kyle have managed to put 7-10 all pros on the field at the same time at 9 key positions…LT, LBs, DEs, DBs, QB, RB, FB, WR TE, plus depth on DL, PK, P, and other receivers. The old adage, "the pendulum always swings back"…is alive and well in 49er land.

I was watching football a good decade prior to that season, and Marino's 1984 season is probably the best I've ever seen from a QB. Joe Montana had arguably his best season ever in 1984 with 28 TD's....and that was a full 20 TD's less than Marino. If you were a QB in that era, a 20 TD passing season was pretty good.

That's unreal as to how good Marino truly was.

Marino with the Smurfs and the Duper Brothers. That was One hell of an offensive team for sure. But that offense is two generations behind this one and as others have said, that era is a different one. Having said that, Purdy's impressive in that he is up there with some true legends already. He'll be setting some legendary records once his career deepens.

The smurfs were the Redskins receivers.

I think what he is saying is that Mariano's season was insanely impressive cause it's stead the test if time, especially these days when the rules favor the offense.

i think Marino's 1984 season is the greatest reg season performance ever cause of the times and rules.

The most interesting thing is that only the 10th best season on that list resulted in a Super Bowl win.

That's actually a great point. Lol I didn't realize that at first.

i think a good reason would be that most of those teams on the list, weren't complete teams. Or just made horrendous mistakes in the playoffs. Lol

Only 5/12 of those guys made the Super Bowl that year.

the 2018 AFCC between mahommes and Brady was great and they changed the overtime rules because of it.

Eh. I think a little more than half of that 40M is going to be used to roll over and help us get out of the -20M+ we currently have on the cap next year.

we also will only have Bosa and jackson again a pass rusher - hopefully we can resign young and/or gregory. We technically have gregory signed but we aren't keeping him with that cap hit.

QB's are one of the hardest positions to evaluate. In hindsight, I think Bill Belichick got lucky vs being good - when he got Tom Brady. Look at Bill now without Tom Brady. Bill Walsh and Kyle Shanahan have also been lucky but also, I think good because in the sense that they *know* a good QB once they get to 4949 Marie P. Debartolo Avenue. They can *see* for themselves vs relying on scouts. (guys like Mooch - Cutting Kurt Warner in training camp).

Things I think are very hard to evaluate in a young college QB going to the Pros:
The progressions - how is the college QB reading the progressions of the offense
Is it the WR or is it the QB when there is separation, I.e. the DB is bad or is the WR that good?
A good run game helps create windows in the passing offense, the better the runner the bigger the passing Windows.
Other things hard to evaluate on QB's - Durability, work ethic (once he's a millionaire), character, focus and dedication to his craft (the Kaepernick situation).

All in all, picking a QB in the draft really is a lottery. Being a good offensive coach helps increase the odds of picking a good QB, but not by much. It's a passing league now, and I think defensive head coaches have a big disadvantage vs offensive head coaches (Saleh, Demeco vs McVay, LaFleur, McDaniel for example) I still think Brock was a lotto pick, Kyle just got lucky. Now he's going to be coaching (if he wants to) till he's 64 (that's twenty years from now - because I think Brock can play for 20 years in the NFL if he wants to).

Just restructuring Deebo and Kittle into their void years - probably can get us out of that 20 million over the cap. Keep in mind I haven't even mentioned Juszczyk, Christian and Trent in terms of restructuring into any of their void years. Point being, Purdy's salary cap hit really is really going to help retain our core stars. They absolute key again, to stay out of cap hell, is to continue to find stars in the draft. Kittle, for one, will be 34 in 2027. You need to find a replacement for Kittle in a year or two, specially once Purdy's 2nd contract kicks in. Fred and Arik are two other players that can be restructured, but again, Arik will be 34 in 2027 also.

The way he lapped the record books....you're probably looking at 6000+ yards and 70 TD's in today's passing era.
All I want fir Christmas is for the 49ers to win and Brock to have the best game of his career (70% comp, 400 passing yards, 5 touchdowns, 0 turnovers).

that's all. Nothing much. #amen
