Our draft had better be all oline. I can't stand another year of getting our qb killed.

It won't be but I get your point. I see at least 3 O linemen drafted and maybe one free agent. Unfortunately the Niners will probably need another LB after Greenlaw's injury. He may not be available until mid season if he plays at all. Even if he does, they need another LB. We saw what happened when Burks was forced to cover the TE.

Gonna be a tall task to get back to there

Next year is a huge maybe, lol, bordering on highly unlikely.

Seahawks have a head coach that had absolutely no problem embarrassing Shanahan. Looked like they knew what was coming the whole game and will have more film to look at as we struggled mightily in large portions of our 3 playoff games.

Our schedule is TOUGH. We're probably going to lose to the Chiefs again, and we still have to play the Lions, Packers, Dolphins, Bills. Might have trouble vs the Vikes, too, if Wilks is still our DC.

10 games against playoff teams, Huf and Dre are question marks, Armstead is most certainly going to miss some time, a lot of our depth pieces were hurt, JJ likely gone...

I think they should spend money AND draft O-lineman.
The only way we're getting back is if Brock Purdy truly is our FQB. We have an aging roster, Lynch might want to leave soon (just a hunch), some disgruntlement may form, and this SB broke some members of this team.

KC went through a lot of turnover and even lost Tyreek Hill. It didn't matter because of Mahomes. He had a makeshift line and his WRs sucked this year. He still gets it done.

Brock needs to be the guy or were going to fade to irrelevance soon.

It is very strange that the media tries so hard to minimize the "analysis" of football to QB vs. QB. And even more strange that so many fans accept it and then mindlessly parrot it over and over.

Brock is the guy. I was looking at NFL sack stats. All the top 7 teams in the NFL were in the playoffs. Chiefs allowed the 2nd fewest sacks and have an All-Pro OG and center in Thuney and Creed Humphrey. 49ers were 7th.

Protect Brock, and we will have always have a chance. He made our sack numbers look a lot better because of his escapability.

Weapons will come and go, but strong trenches should always be a priority. Great defense + protection for the FQB should be non-negotiable.

Easier to not allow sacks when you lead the league in holding calls. And then benefit from favorable officiating in the playoffs and Super Bowl...

That too. People need to remember also. Trent Williams will eventually retire and while it's unlikely we get an All-Pro to replace him when that day comes, we will be saving a lot of money then too. The roster will balance out in some other area.

Browns, Bengals, Ravens, and Vikings all have/had DCs that know football. Spags is no different. A smart DC puts their best defender on across from the RG and RT. Thats the formula.

one of the few things walterfootball is right about:
you need a fqb, you need to protect your fqb and you need to get to the opposing (f)qb.

The Seahawks new head coach in no way shape or form embarrassed Shannahan it's a ridiculous take especially if you actually watched the game.

Exactly! Our priority needs to go to the offensive line because since they allow holding, headlocks and mugging this minimizes the defensive lines production, and the strength of teams like us. It's sad, but that's the way it is going forward
