I have no doubt that Brock could perform at a high level regardless of all our weapons if he actually had solid pass pro around him. Seeing him hit Chris Conley and McCloud on big plays in the SB tells me all I need to know about him.
Give him time to find open guys and he's going to move the ball.
Now if we can keep our playmakers around AND get the OL to pass pro better then we're really going to be dangerous.
let's do that!

For example in the 2019 Saints game, which is often cited as one of his best games, he was painfully average to me.
You didn't know s**t. Jimmy was good and Brock is way better. Get lost

What should be alarming is that Jimmy was also pretty high in a lot of metrics, he led the league in Y/C and NY/A in 2021...but most of us knew what he really was. This offense inflates Brock's numbers, no doubt about it. The question of what would happen if this is a dropback-heavy pass-heavy offense, is still open but imo until CMC and Deebo are gone, this offense wouldnt change its identity drastically.

I think he put up those numbers in spite of the pass protection. You did see the games where he escaped so many sacks it was unbelievable, right? When our unit consistently ranks in the bottom five teams, that's a huge issue.
But you are right, we all agree that the line needs to improve. I don't care if we get worse run blocking as long as pass protection Gets better. We will all be happy and we will win at least two more Super Bowls in the next six years.

Yes, and yes. There is no doubt Brock is miles better. Absolute zero doubt. The problem is a lot of Jimmy numbers, such as yards per attempt and other numbers, were extremely high in this offense. So how much of it is Brock and how much of it is the offense.

What improvements are some of you looking to see out of Brock this year?
personally, I don't think there was anything he did "bad" last year but I think he left a lot out there on some plays, but I think that has a lot to do with experience. He's reviewing the film this off season and I think he's going to be a machine out there next year - see the field way better and study the type of defenses that really slowed him down (baltimore & KC).

arm talent, deep ball, and more taking command at the LOS if Lord Shanny allows

There's only so much you can do to improve your arm strength. He improves some during his rehab before last season but he's not going to become Allan or Mahomes. His arm strength is good enough for Kyle's offense that doesn't call many over the top deep plays. They don't have that type of receiver anyway. From what I hear the players say he takes command in the huddle so again I don't know how much he can improve there.
He will learn to recognize defenses quicker so he can improve there. Other than that I think he's already about as good as he can be.

that film it shows he was leaving the downfield plays on the table, it needs to be better you hit those when available and you alter the depth at which the safeties have to play, he's close he just needs to work on it a bit
