The 49ers still have enough pieces to contend, and Purdy is young enough to continue looking for his first Super Bowl ring. But the biggest problem might be that Mahomes and the Chiefs aren't done yet.
Kansas City has already hoisted the last two championships and it's going after the next one to complete an unprecedented three-peat in NFL history. That's what is keeping Mahomes, Andy Reid and Travis Kelce motivated after so much success.
The Chiefs are a rising dynasty in the league, and no one knows when it will end. Their first title came in February 2020, and only Tom Brady (twice) and Joe Burrow have been able to stop Mahomes so far. Will Purdy get to join that list this year?

.

I sure hope so, but I feel it's less on Purdy. KC seems to be Kyle's kryptonite.

Dallas was Young's kryptonite but he eventually beat them. The hardest part for the Chiefs will be getting back to the SB. They only play 11 games on Sunday. The rest are on other days which makes the schedule a little weird.

At some point someone inside the AFC other than the Bengals are gonna need to step up.

Nothing would be sweeter than defeating kc in the sb. Nothing.

I would just be happy if we kicked their ass in Oct. I would love to beat the Ravens in the SB...still gotta make up for that one lol

The Ravens should have beaten them. We would have had more trouble with them than the Chiefs.

Yes I know we lost but after the way they played us they were the best team we faced last year.

I think we would've lost by 10 to the ravens. Chiefs lucked out to beat them (and us).

Such is football!

What do you guys think Brock Purdy's new deal will look like next year?

It will have a couple commas and a bunch of zeroes.

No way to truly find out, but I think the 49ers would have beaten the Ravens in the SB. Not easily, but not a nailbiter either. The 49ers moved the ball very well vs the Ravens in the regular season loss. It was the turnovers that killed the 49ers. I feel like it's one of those things where once you see the BAL defense play once, it's helps immensely in the gameplanning for the rematch (the SB). A lot of what BAL did was based on deception. That element of surprise is lessened the second time around, especially for smart guys like Brock and Kyle. Then you factor in how Lamar plays small in big games.
The Chris Simms ranking and Jordan Love would have easily won the Super Bowl. I've never seen a guy get more praise for LOSING and CHOKING in the Playoffs than Love. You would think he won the game based on how they talk about him.

I'll never not find the packers niners game funny with people s**tting on Brock for some almost turnovers but then love had actual terrible turnovers that cost them the game and it was "wow what a game from love!! So close!"

Here's the convo

I love how he doesn't bring up that Love had a guy WIDE OPEN for an easy TD that game and his really only other big play was off a PI. Neither QB played great that game imo.

It doesn't mean much but I am confident we would've beaten Baltimore. I think they got very lucky in our game but overall we were moving the ball on them.

In a rematch I think we fix the turnover issues but it is what it is now.
