I recommend the entire podcast episode from which this clip came. They did a really great breakdown of the season, offseason, and predictions. They clearly studied the team and know their ish. They are also both high on Brock.
I have a question that I would like to hear Zoners give their opinion about. Pondering a scenario where Nick Saban gives Brock a spot on the Alabama roster and he does what he did at Iowa State, where is Brock, doing what he's doing in the NFL now, rated amongst NFL QB's?

He'd easily be in the top 10. Draft bias is huge in this and had Brock gone to Bama and put up even the numbers he did there(he would've put up bigger numbers in Bama btw) he would've gone in the first round.

When you play at Brock's level and you were a first round pick = you get the instant love and "he's got it!"

When you're a 7th rounder you're a system QB and only way it seems like you can get out of that is by throwing to trash receivers.

Agree💯%, and Kyle just has to enhance Brock's mind. Other offenses can enhance a guys arm. For example - get a speedster WR that can blow by CB's as if they were just walking (Randy Moss/Tyreek Hill) that won't really help Brock - even though Brock's deep passes have been extraordinary.

I love the Pearsall pick, because it enhances the Brock mind by allowing quick option routs between him and Aiyuk and Purdy - since both are such precise route runners. Brock's anticipation is astronomically greater than possibly all of the QB's currently in the NFL. Joe and Dwight were almost impossible to stop because they could complete any pass against any coverage because of their mental synergy and synchronicity.

It took Brady years and a couple of super bowl wins to throw off that label, I'm pretty sure it will take at least that for Brock too.

Brock was considered a first round prospect at one point, it was just that he didn't have major leaps in his final year or so and that hurt his stock.

so he easily would of been a top 5 pick, IMO. Especially when you look at the talent at skill positions they had during the years he would of been there.

He was considered a late 1st early 2nd I believe after his sophomore year. His following two yrs were petty underwhelming. Truthfully I don't think he would have been a realistic top 5 guy. He just never had all those measurables that high end QBs have.

s**t doesn't matter now anyway 😃

Excited to see how much better he becomes this year. He was already playing at a high level, but there is always room for improvement. Not as many distractions this offseason for him.

When I said top 5, I meant if he went to bama under Saban. (That was the hypothetical the poster brought up). Cause the skill weapon and o line talent was insane. Like 8 first round picks just in running backs, WR, and o line on those bama squads, at least. Lol

Man I'm so amped for the season to start and watch his growth. It's going to be a blast
