This dude

Damn I can't read it :(

from the article, I love this quote.
"There were moments last year in games where I would just — I don't know what it was in the situation — but we'd be up and it's, 'All right, be smart with the ball,' or 'Let's just make sure we don't mess up.' I want to break through that and get to this point of just being dominant, for four quarters, man. That's my mindset."

Damn this guy got me getting up from the bed fired up at 12:30 in the morning.

Hahaha man having a qb who may be a consistently elite qb is so damn exciting. I've literally been waiting my entire life for this. I was too young to really watch/appreciate Steve young.

it's nice to know that we don't have to play a perfect game in all three phases to have a chance to win. Ala the Detroit and Packers games in the playoff. Obviously it isn't an ideal way to play teams but it's nice to know we can still pull it off cause our qb goes ape sh!t.

can't wait to see how much better Brock is this year. I think he's the next special guy who will have a play style more like Bree's but an approach/mentality of Brady. Thats the dream anyways. Hahah

Hell yeah! It's cool that winning isn't necessarily good enough for him. He wants to dominate and be perfect. He doesn't have that "welp, is what it is". Mindset that I think guys like Jimmy and Lawrence have.

Especially before $60m a year negotiation time.
I was wondering if people here think the 49ers will pay purdy whatever the going rate is next year, no matter how high it goes? $58? No problem. $65 mill a year. Hell yeah!
have to remember who our coach is. Shannahan can make whatever QB he has and I'd bet everything I have shanny can do it again . Look what he did with Jimmy. The going rate for a top 10 QB is going to get so high shanny is gonna figure we can't pay purdy that much and he can do it again with another decent QB.
Maybe Brock tells them he will take a discount if the extra money they were going to pay him goes directly to the offensive line.

It's amazing how rapidly salaries have escalated. This wasn't gradual increase. A short time ago QBs were making $25-30 million per year. Now we're talking about $60 million. That' crazy. Even housing and groceries don't rise that fast.
Prices are gonna be so high next year ill bet the 49ers do what they are doing with BA.

We know what the going rate for QB's is, but here, this is what you are worth to us.

Thats how id bet next offseason goes down. If Purdy thinks he's worth the max theres no way he's gonna get it from the 49ers. Purdy getting paid $60 million a year would hamstrung the entire franchise. If Tua is worth 50+ what does that make Mahomes worth? The numbers are getting INSANE.

Purdy seems like a down to earth guy that really wants to prove himself. Maybe he'll sign whatever offer they make without any dragged out negotiations. That's still going to be way more than he probably ever dreamed of. That would allow the team to continue providing all the tools and support he needs and would also show that he puts team ahead of self. That would go a long way toward establishing his leadership.

I don't know if this will happen but it would be nice to see.

Yeah, it's not sustainable. Everyone keeps talking about how the cap is going up but there are 21 other starters that want their salary to go up a ton too.

what five years ago Jimmy signed a record contract and he wasn't even at $30M? Now we are double that? Insane.

we just have to hope that Brock signs a 7+ year extension to give us a ton of flexibility. Or do a structure like Lawrence/hurts to make the cap hit low for a while.

im confident Brock will do a team friendly structure to help keep talent around him. We will see though

My personal opinion is that he is going to make a ton but take less than he can push for. So takes a little less but still makes a ton. If he just takes 45M a year, that would be huge. Maybe he won't but I think he is going to do something that will shock most, just my opinion. Not everyone is money hungry and he knows he can make a lot off the field too.

I think he will try to emulate what Brady did. Or at least what mahommes did with the super long contract to give the team a ton of flexibility

Why in thee hell would Brock take less than Tua? Brock is better than Tua.

if dude is smart he takes the max. This is a business. I do not think the 49ers will pay him the max so my prediction is he ends up somewhere else.

Purdy is already seeing endorsements, he can get a lot more if we win a ship. Hopefully that can keep the price down
