Purdy wins Pepsi rookie of the week. Hope he's on his way to win offensive rookie of the year.
100% odds he starts next year now that Shanny has fallen in love with him. His ex's will have to move on.

But... I think the only thing that will hold Purdy back is himself. He can do everything at least good enough. I haven't seen anything in his game yet where I could see an obvious area where he can struggle in.
He can't let his success get to his head and think he can take it a bit easier in the off-season, practice, preparation, those type of things.
The biggest knock I can give him right now is his size. He's gonna need to be able to protect himself, and it seems like he's already pretty good at that.
Imo, he's got the instics to play the position well, and his arm is fine enough to make the majority of the throws. No, he'll never be able to roll to his left and throw a 50 yard rope, but that just isn't that necessary.
Playoffs are gonna be a different animal though, more holding / pi is allowed, defenses will be better. If he shows that he can handle playoff football, you gotta roll with this kid as the starter next year.
The only real weakness so far is passing lanes and knock downs at the LOS. He sometimes has to to slide into a window to see/pass.
Ya that's fair. Brees had the high angle delivery which helped him in that regard.
Yeah, I don't think it's crippling either. Just something that might pop up here and there.
Something we should keep an eye on but nothing to be concerned about as of now. 2 of his 4 batted passes this season came against one of the best d lines in the NFL. Trey is listed as 3 inches taller and has more batted passes in less pass attempts in their respective careers.
Agreed and good perspective. Kind of like Jones in the Superbowl, IIRC, those knock downs were a result of the DL dropping back further into the passing lanes, watching the QB and getting their hands up (disengaged). This is as much on the OL as anything.
Yes. Its more on the o line than the QB but the QB can be at fault also if he is telegraphing his throws.
To put things a little more into perspective when talking about QB height. Jimmy is listed at 6'2", Brock at 6'1". The difference in their height is the length of the tip of my pinky to the first knuckle. 😅
49er QB Batted passes % over the last 2 seasons.
Jimmy- 2.8%
Trey- 4.9%
Brock- 3.5%
CCan someone post the spider chart for Jimmy and Brock?
