Exactly. He has zero time. Watch Darnold sit back there with little to no pressure and you see the results.

Brendel is a liability in true pass sets, outside of that the rest of the OL has actually not be a massive problem in those true pass sets.

Sam has basically had a lead all season, dude is doing exactly what Kyle was doing with Jimmy when our D was elite. Run the ball and play action all day when you aren't playing from behind.

Mckivitz routinely gets beaten

Mckivitz is passable, barely. Brendell is really bad. Problem with center is that there aren't good centers out there walking the streets. Even if we traded for one getting him up to speed would take weeks, unless he's run this scheme before.

Maybe Jon Feliciano but Brendell has always played over him in the past so I won't hold my breath on that one.

Well we had multiple reporters come out and debunk the post game "lecture" BS being spread. Even to the point of telling us John Lynch walk up being comical during it.

one of the said something to hte effect of I was the closest reporter to Brock and Shanny, and I was not ease dropping, but it seemed like and x and o conversation, and about the dangers of trying to do to much.

That makes sense with Brock turning the ball over the way he did....

You would want that. Lots of them like that all around the NFL. The 50 yard completion is most important. Incomplete is a much bigger disaster (too far of a throw). You should be able to punch it in from there. But our red zone offense is horrific. More a problem of red zone offense.

In football shorter, under thrown and complete is 10,000 times better than an over throw. An over throw is 100% incomplete. Never been completed. See Jimmy G in the Super Bowl. A 50 yard completion is great. You take that any time you can get it. If our redzone wasn't so horrible we would just punch that in.

If Purdy wants to be the best.....he has to start punishing teams with shorter throws.....

We all love chunks....but teams are trying to take those chunks away, and there is stuff underneath that is wide ass open.

There are downs where Purdy is allowing teams to put 6 defenders into his midrange comfort zone on 2 maybe 3 targets.

The team might as well only be running 3 guys on routs with Purdy ignoring the underneath stuff.

As good as this offense can be at times, there is a monumental room for growth if Purdy would just take some underneath stuff. Just on raw production...lord knows how big the impact would be if teams had to defend the entire field down in and down out. Right now they simply do not have to.

Purdy is probably starting to get painted into a tendency box of sorts....he needs to start using the entire field.

I love the way fans jump all over the place. I recall seeing many posts last year saying Purdy needed to throw downfield more. Now he's doing it and some fans want him to throw more short passes. He can't win. Just can't please everyone.

Not where he put it. Sure completion and no overthrow was more important there. It happens all the time in the NFL. Overthrow is Jimmy G in the Super Bowl. You miss the huge chunk yards entirely. You can always punch it in from short. Assuming your red zone offense is not terrible like ours. The theory is an overthrow has a 100% incompletion rate. Under throw gives you the chunk yards. You punch it in from there.

He was throwing more short stuff in the past, but two things changed. 1. Opponents brought safeties closer and LBs got took deeper drops. 2. Shanahan set up more deep route opportunities.

It doesn't take a major change, just an adjustment.

Also, not having CMC as an option allows teams to tighten up coverage all over the field.
