Yeah would be stupid to do. Even from a cap management standpoint. lol

Brock isn't the problem. This team has been a shell of itself this year, so far. After the bye, we will turn back into a juggernaut

Brock is on pace for another 4,000 yard season. And if all these other QB's who haven't done s**t in the playoffs got paid then no question Brock Purdy has earned it!!!

We can argue about how he's played, but it's really beside the point (for now at least). What he does over the next 9+ games, into next season potentially, is going to figure into contract negotiations.

Let's just say for the sake of discussion that he plays inarguably poorly for the rest of the year. In that scenario the team is not simply going to pay him like a top QB because he looked like one in his first 1.5 years starting.

I still disagree, because he's shown more times than he hasn't that he still can play. You're gonna discount 9 games over what he has already accomplished? Sure his poor play may factor in his upcoming contract but do you actually think by a lot?

You act like he's saying the team is going to offer him a $10M a year deal or something if he does play poorly.

the rest of this season will have a lot to do with how the negotiations go. I think it's safe to say that Brock is going to get a fat payday, unless he has a catastrophic injury, but how fat is the question - and his play will factor into that.

The qb market is dumb anyways. Lol guys like dak are the highest paid ever and Daniel's out here earning $40M or whatever it is.

Anyways, Brock isn't the problem and I expect us to be a much better team after the bye and we get key guys back. The injuries, special teams, inconsistent run game, poor pass pro, lack of YAC, mediocre red zone etc are all things that I'm hoping to see improvements in.

a healthy CMC can help with most of that but we will see.
This year hasn't gone as good as we want but maybe we need to recognize the difficulties Brock has had to overcome. He started the year without CMC or Elijah Mitchell. Mason has played well but then got hurt which then relied on Guerrendo to step in. Aiyuk held out all training camp and so did Trent Williams. Aiyuk gets hurt and out for the year. Jennings has been hurt along with Deebo. Pearsall didn't start practicing until recently. At some points he has and to rely on Chris Conley and Ronnie Bell as his wideouts.

The majority of this team hasn't played much together and the one reliable source has been Brock Purdy. It shouldn't surprise any of us that the offense has struggled with the injuries and shuffling yet they move the ball up and down the field and still put up points. The Chiefs game was his standout bad game but he had Pearsall, Cowing, Conley, and Bell the majority of that game. Jonnydel did a great breakdown of how players were not on the same page that contributed to the poor play.

Mahomes has lost some of his weapons and is having his worst year. Fortunately, his defense carries the team and he makes enough plays to get the team win. If our defense was nearly as good as the Chiefs, thus team is easily 6-2 or possibly better. Brock is playing well and it would not surprise me if his play improves as he gets more players back and more time with some of the rookies.

I still believe
Brock need to lift his game especially his red zone passing.

We leave a lot of points on the field because of Brock.

Second time I am asking you this, and hoping for an answer this time....

Do you think Brock just forgot how to play well in the redzone? Last season he was elite in the redzone. Did he just fall off? Or just maybe there might be reasons why he hasn't been as good this year.

I really doubt it. You pick on him despite having terrible protection.
People act like he has good protection all the time and has great receivers. He doesn't have either. Stop focusing on only him as if he can overcome all of the negatives himself. People need to go back and watch when Steve Young was being beaten up all the time. He couldn't do anything. Imagine if we had this forum then. People would be picking on him constantly.

I'm really starting to hate the stupid things I read here.
One more person to block.

You're not following, tankle. But in your first sentence you pretty much said what I was getting at. People were saying that past play doesn't matter either.

something is up.. a lot of routes were open and could have been thrown to a lot sooner.. especially to Kittle (All 22 will show it)

This year he seems to be waiting a lot more.. instead of just diagnosing the defense and hit the open guy quickly.. it's probably why we don't have anymore YAC

Purdy fakes are my favorite . Very good one there:)

I think the play was meant to be thrown to Deebo but the cowboy defender blew it up and Brock pulled the ball down and got what he could get. Which is an extremely good play there if he went on and threw it, it's an int for sure.

Brocks agent isnt going to take a small/medium deal just because we think he should.

All he/she has to do is point to trevor lawrence....

At some point professional sports need to wake up and realize every players doesn't need to be the highest paid at his position. It's causing massive salary escalation that is unsustainable. Eventually this will come back to haunt them. A few elite players will be surrounded by a lot of underpaid and disgruntled players.

I wonder if it is him adapting to what he is seeing, like A lot of random people dropping into coverage, and maybe a lack of trust the receiver will be there.
