....riiiighhht?

No I'm just a 9er doing what fans do. You're the one that's trying to be football smart (and looks like a football idiot so far lmao). Keep doubting your own ballers

At this juncture, nobody can say with any fact that Purdy is THAT guy, given many factors including the offense he is piloting.....and we may never see it consistently.

There is no QB that anybody knew for sure would be an all time great half way into their 3rd season. Even Brady who already had a ring wasn't looked seen as a future hofer half way through year 3. I mean there was a time when Brady had the rings, but he was no Peyton Manning. Turns out Brady is the GOAT lol. Don't let those narratives sway you

Why is everyone forecasting idiocy depending on whether BP meets their expectations (great/average/poor)? Silly zoners.
I just want a Super Bowl. I don't care if it's Brock Brees or Brock Dilfer.

Oh man. Don't think he's saying Brock is Drew yet. It's a pretty clear fact though that young Brock has been a lot better than young Drew was in San Diego his first 3 years.

We don't know what Purdy will look like in 2-3 more years. But based on the major jump you see from a lot of guys at that 5-6 year mark, I wouldn't be surprised if he was doing quite well. Especially if we improve the OL.

Drew certainly had some pro bowl and all pro beasts on OL, and some great weapons in Deuce McCallister, pro bowler Joe Horn, Colston (1000+ in 6 of his first 7 seasons), pro bowl TE Jeremy Shockey, hall of fame TE Jimmy Graham, Sproles, etc.

Brees' line in his Super Bowl year consisted of Bushrod, Nicks, Evans, Goodwin, and Stinchcomb. Every one of them was a pro bowler in their career, and three were all pros in their career -- Evans is a future hall of famer.

My opinion is.. the OL is what helped Drew the most when he entered his prime. For us, that's what Brock needs going forward if he's gonna be great. OL over weapons. Yes, have some, but make that sacrifice. Trent can't do it all himself. Even with Puni it's not enough.

Well yeah, he's only halfway through his third year. No one knew Brees or Brady was gonna be that guy at that point in their career either, but I do think he's shown the things that give credence to the idea that it's definitely possible. He's obviously not Mahomes, but he's shown signs that he might be special.

I think he can at least be a perennial top 10 guy, and that's the kind you can win multiple Super Bowls with. Manning wasn't as good as Brady but beat him twice. But I don't think Brock can be top 5 unless he's got a great OL. I mean crap, look at what it did for Jared Goff..

He's much better than Dilfer. Come on. That's not even a close call.

They had a freaking wall inside. That interior was so good and could run or pass block equally well.

Brees was an interesting case because of the injury, but Brady definitely showed signs early in his career that he was the man. Despite the general thoughts of most, he had seasons of 500+, 600+ attempts...and that was before passing stats took spikes in 2004 and somewhere around 2011. And outside of Troy Brown, it's not like he had a bunch of awesome receivers to go to early on. I certainly didn't see the career he would go on to have, but then again, I didn't know he'd be kept together with some voodoo witch doctor with his steroid concoctions either.

I agree that SF should build up the line....I've generally always thought the best teams were built with offensive and defensive lines....and I would definitely sacrifice some of the skill positions to do so. It will be interesting to see the direction the team goes when Purdy gets paid.
