When a RB is supposed to chip block, thats the risk you are running. I dont think a CMC chip block would have been much different than that.

That's the problem that JD was pointing out: it's not a chip block. He's supposed to stay in and block, not release.

Side note: anyone notice at times the ball coming out weird yesterday? I wonder if he's dealing with something. Dude seemed to be throwing ducks at times. I wonder if this was a one off or something that's been happening before yesterday's game.

The protection does him no favours, but I think some of that Is down to him holding on to the ball for too long? That being said, I thought he had a good game overall yesterday and that Td pass to Kittle was a thing of beauty.

I'm not saying Brock never holds onto it too long but I'd wager a good amount of the time he holds longer is cause no one is open - our skill guys have been horrible this year at getting separation.

couple poor separation with poor pass pro and it's a bad recipe.
guys are open, thats the issue.

Brock has the highest TTT stat.

I highly doubt that Brock is not throwing to the first two reads and they're open. If that's true, it's cause he is pass rushed.

that said, if the 3-4th open is getting open and he doesn't have pass pro, then guys aren't actually open. Play design and the way he's coached up to execute it comes into play.

once again, Brock isn't perfect - but if he guys are open and Brock isn't hitting them, I guarantee you there is more to it than Brock is just being gun shy.
The film is there, guys are open. He's just not seeing the field as he used to or not moving on to the the next read sooner.

I'm sure there are plays he may of missed someone but once again, it doesn't really matter if the third or fourth option eventually got open but the o line got its ass beat and he couldn't go through his reads properly.

overall, it's hard to judge if he's missing open players when we don't know how he's supposed to execute the play. Brock is known to execute the plays as they're designed and he's directed to. It would be shocking if all a sudden he was out there being mindless and ineffective.
if he's waiting on his first read then he's not performing as he should. He had no issues the last two years moving through progressions quickly

Being at the top of the list with TTT, he should be killing it

I remember one pass to JJ that it looked like it was going high but then it just took a nosedive
Even though we've seen him win close games in the playoffs already. I think these close wins in the regular season will serve the team well come playoff time. We have some rookies playing big roles now. Purdy with his 4th quarter comebacks. We'll be primed and ready for the playoff grind back to the super bowl.

It seemed like he never really trusted Mason in the passing game or any one else, not like he does CMC. That or those guys just weren't doing what they were being expected to in pass pro or routes and he lost trust in them.

im still annoyed that kyle took CMC out in the redzone on the first two downs. As soon as i saw Gurendo in, I had a bad feeling. Dude totally whiffed a key chip block.

anyways, I agree. Things just felt more open and less pressure with CMC out there. Gotta love kittle too. Dudes awesome - all time great niner for sure.
Brock had a few Int's and what looked like wtf passes this year because of timing and rookies not running good routes. I think that might have something to do with his hesitation.

Purdy took a hit a few games back that was almost identical to the one where he got severely injured v PHI

I think it was the end of the AZ game
*found it

His arm has not looked the same since then

Smh yall try to play detective way too damn much and worry, his arm strength looked perfectly fine the next game in a quick turn around in Seattle throwing that td outside the numbers to Kittle🙄 yall thinking about him being hurt don't think that maybe the humidity in FL caused being extra sweat and made the ball moist? Or was just flat out off but picked it up like he did later on
