That's the problem that JD was pointing out: it's not a chip block. He's supposed to stay in and block, not release.

And how does he know that?

Probably by the play and Trent's reaction confirming it.

Not sure if blaming the RB on a 4 man rush is the right call

Looks to me like the protection was called wrong; no way Isaac chips and releases if it's "max protect" and he stays in to block "no matter what"

Guerendo f**ked up. He only chips if the rusher is the 2nd man outside the center. They overloaded 3 rushers to his side so he needed to stay in.
Interesting breakdown

Good find. Especially for the defenders of Kyle's "every play has an answer" philosophy.

I don't think we can for certain know exactly what Endo was suppose to do....but the strongest conformation is Trent's reaction.

We have seen Trent be protective of the young guys in the past (thinking Brock here), that reaction probably confirms the Endo did not do what he is suppose to do.

We know, Endo want's to do what is in the best interest of the team, I am guessing he got confused on when or if he was suppose to release into the passing rout.

Probably a mistake, maybe even Endo got greedy watching CMC doing his thing in the passing game and wanted to show off that he can do some of that too, so a mistake with a motive... IDK

I feel kind of bad since I have spent the last...what? 3? 4? months bragging about Endo as a pass blocker, and we now have several poor showings as a pass protector. I am disappointed , I still think he can be great at it...but he has be way more consistent in making the right choices down to down.

Guess what if Deebo does not turn around or he falls on that play there is a safety right there to intercept the ball.

He's usually right.

I don't know what your talking about?

CMC was the read on that play and it worked out with a tuddy on the drive, but if Brock hit him in stride, that would have been 6.

Very unlikely that is a TD in any scenario. Safety had a great angle

Oh my gosh dude you can say that about almost any pass play. It was a baller read and great anticipation and it worked! Why dwell on what could have been

Yup, regardless, he should have stayed in to block. 6 guys to block 4 is par for the course on this team lol

What I been saying. We know there is technically supposed to be an answer (film shows there isn't at times) but there's just more practical ways to beat the blitz. Practical might not make you look like genius, but it's a lot easier to execute. Playing like this is part of the reason why we always struggle against really good defenses and coordinators. We play the hard way by design

The protection does him no favours, but I think some of that Is down to him holding on to the ball for too long? That being said, I thought he had a good game overall yesterday and that Td pass to Kittle was a thing of beauty.

I'm not saying Brock never holds onto it too long but I'd wager a good amount of the time he holds longer is cause no one is open - our skill guys have been horrible this year at getting separation.

couple poor separation with poor pass pro and it's a bad recipe.
guys are open, thats the issue.

Brock has the highest TTT stat.

I highly doubt that Brock is not throwing to the first two reads and they're open. If that's true, it's cause he is pass rushed.

that said, if the 3-4th open is getting open and he doesn't have pass pro, then guys aren't actually open. Play design and the way he's coached up to execute it comes into play.

once again, Brock isn't perfect - but if he guys are open and Brock isn't hitting them, I guarantee you there is more to it than Brock is just being gun shy.
The film is there, guys are open. He's just not seeing the field as he used to or not moving on to the the next read sooner.

I'm sure there are plays he may of missed someone but once again, it doesn't really matter if the third or fourth option eventually got open but the o line got its ass beat and he couldn't go through his reads properly.

overall, it's hard to judge if he's missing open players when we don't know how he's supposed to execute the play. Brock is known to execute the plays as they're designed and he's directed to. It would be shocking if all a sudden he was out there being mindless and ineffective.
if he's waiting on his first read then he's not performing as he should. He had no issues the last two years moving through progressions quickly

Being at the top of the list with TTT, he should be killing it
Brock knows he's missing guys, glad he's aware and upset about it
