think of how insulting it is, to sit there for days of the NFL draft, and teams are taking guys who you know can't play. and each pick is costing you dollars and opportunity. it probably burned him up and still does.

He makes a million a year and probably double that endorsements with Toyota, Deere and whoever he has teamed up with. I'd say that is a damn dream coming out of college. No need to feel bad at all.

I get the talk about not overpaying, but in the end I think he is a top starter who needs a better line and at least 2 players he can count on. Yesterday Kittle was out so that left only Jennings.... its been a s**t luck year by all accounts. I mean we couldn't even run the ball. I know Seattle's defense is gelling and getting better, but our o line is not even good at run blocking anymore.

a million a year means he gets outearned by the long snapper.

I think 3 years at 75 million would be fair.

Somewhere between the 2 and I'd be ecstatic

this comes off as laughable when he was in the MVP convo a year ago. here's his stat line just if you project his current numbers:

4442 pass yds

He is also projected for 22 TDs & 14 INTs

Geno Smith, who you would like to pay Purdy the same as, is projected for 18 TD's and 18 INT's. Matt Stafford, who makes $40M/year, is projected for the same TD's and INT's as Purdy, with less yards.

on Stafford, he made bank his career, and that deal pays him until near 40.

i'm trying to get into Purdy's shoes here. i would be a lil ticked over my current contract if I was him. i would enter negotiations saying ok time to right a wrong, and get the mega deal. ppl want to have their cake and eat it too. saying he's the best team QB since maybe Young, and here's why he should accept a lowball..

i'm tired of hearing how he should take a discount. he's already on the discount. he lost $30m by my count.
Love Purdy but don't think we can pay him 60m..

Dak got that because he has 3 seasons of 30+ TD and 4 seasons of 3:1 TD to INT ratio or better.

This year has to lower that price some.

Yeah we'd also be very lucky if he didn't bring that energy that you're describing into the negotiations. It would be understandable if he did, and honestly the team would be wise to accommodate him. He's already earned whatever deal they give him, even if it's the highest paid QB contract of all time. In my opinion the best we can hope for is a shorter term deal, fully guaranteed, with a $50M-$55M per year average. That would be a team friendly deal. This $25M/year talk is ridiculous. Fat Deebo and Aiyuk get more than that.

not to harp on it, but ppl all day tell me in here that brock is better than Dak, and that Dak sucks. well notice how the grades on those players flip when it's contract time. i'm noticing a lot of funny talk like that around his contract. is he better than dak or not?
we dont know WHO brock is cause this stupid offense isn't even built for brock. it's built for jimmy g.

even the criticism he gets is built and designed for jimmy g. "oh he's a game manager" cause the offense players/playstyle around him is built for a game manager.

bunch of YAC-ers and run blockers and brawlers and a running game. mostly short and intermediate threat guys.

I know a few Cowboys fans and every one of them says they'd take Purdy over Dak any day. I wouldn't trade Purdy for Dak and 2 first rounders.

You started a good conversation in the "other" Purdy thread. Let's move it here as that other one is going to get locked soon.

we need to re-design/re-work this offense into something else. it may include getting rid of juice and kittle and possibly deebo.

that's my theory. it may not be true. but i think we need to make it so the QB is the star of the show.

none of this YAC BROS nonsense

it should be so damn pass happy that aiyuk doesn't complain about jack s**t. we should basically run the offense like we have prime peyton manning.

You are 100% spot on. I've been saying this since last season. Kittle, Deebo, Aiyuk, etc are all players that fit Jimmy/Kyle. Purdy/Kyle is a totally different combination that requires a more pass oriented OL and route runners rather than YAC guys/gadget players. Aiyuk somewhat fits but is not ideal. Deebo is obsolete. Kittle works because he's such a good blocker but that's not as necessary anymore as we don't need to run the ball as much. It's going to take time to transition the offensive players to fit Purdy's style. We're going through those growing pains in real time.
we was thinking drew brees, instead we got doug flutie
We should run a pass happy offense like we have a prime Peyton Manning, lol.

We don't have to. Let him play out next year and franchise if necessary.
