This would be ideal, but I think it's asking a lot to expect Brock to play at his current price for another season when he can hold out.

That said, I think it would be a bad move to pay him a top of the market deal in the offseason at this point.

that's a fantasy. we don't franchise anybody. and franchise at QB would be a huge hit. even a long term deal you have pretty easy hits early on.
They really could let it go another year. One year (well most) he didn't play. I still think of him as sophomore in my own head. That doesn't dictate rushing out to a $50m a year deal. Comparing his deal to QBs with many more years and in some cases better QBs is a slippery slope.
If I was Brock, the only way I would take a hometown discount would be if FO spent that extra money on a legit OL.

Yup, that's gotta be only way and he has to stand firm
Just saw purdy has shoulder soreness… will be day to day. Any bets on when they announce he's out I'm going to go with this Thursday.

You never know.....

At least Brock appears to have a ton of self awareness....Brock knows he is not perfect, or at least....his public persona...is that he needs a ton of improvement and accepts that he has made errors that have lead to losses.

This could be much worse, we could be dealing with a dude who talks about how great he is, if only other people would do their jobs better....

I would not be shocked if Brock does what his agent tells him, and holds out for a hell of a bag,....but I honestly could see this go the other way as well....I could see this go down as Brock knowing at this point in his career he needs help, and takes a discount to allow the team to build up more talent at other positions.

At least this next generation of the 49ers have a ton of talent already on the roster. They just need to tweak the lines, and cut some fat off the WR position.

I think I will always be in that what if camp when it comes to this roster. What if the 49ers dropped some of that WR money into the 0-line. I really hope this team transitions over the next 2 seasons from the glut they have at WR, to one of the best o-lines in the NFL.

strikes me as rude to think he's getting short changed now and we hope he continues to short change himself. i hope we don't get a discount. if we want a discount, we can draft another round 7 and start that guy.
He's not going to take a discount. He has all the power. Especially if we are having a losing season.

He literally can say he's going to sign and then the draft no one. Then hold out half the season and see how well the backup does.

If I'm shanahan or lynch there is no way I risk two losing seasons in a row and look inept for letting my starting QB hold out into the season.

They already look pathetic for the Trent Williams, Ayuik and CMC deals. Doing it with the starting QB risks both their heads...

If its my job and it's not my money just pay him what he wants....
At his point I would straight up play backup on same short pass scheme and see if they are as good as purdy

I think he ain't s**t and niners accepted it and fans went crazy for him . He kinda has that pretty boy religious guy that made him popular.

It used to be if you couldn't throw down field you sat on bench he looks like a backup and always will.

Again I am a north dakota niner fan
What drew me to niners was the explosive offense off Steve young Jerry Rice ricky wattee this team is an anemic offense that totally relies on the defense (bosa)

Kid was wondering if his name would even be called two and a half years ago, now he's holding out? You don't understand this kid at all. He will be there day one contract or not.

Trey Lance was garbage. f**kin waste of picks!!! Dude wasn't even worth a 3rd round pick. Thank god for Brock Purdy. If it weren't for Purdy the 49ers would've had a major setback. So thank god for Brock Purdy!!!
Cj Stroud just threw a terrible pick against terrible Cowboys. They should totally find a new quarterback. Using webzone logic, the Texans are in the QB market now, wonder who they'll pick next year?

Poop post tbh

We went crazy for him because he has been so damn good, pretty simple.

Just think if we were stuck with Trey? Or I guess we would have Cousins maybe but.?

Got us to the NFC Champ Game two years in a row and ppl wanna talk s**t. We lost that damn SB because of Shanny and the defense, probably that fumble didn't help either lol.
