The deep ball isn't the problem with having a weak arm. It's the velocity when driving the ball into tight windows. Nick Mullens once threw the ball 60 yards.

Thow to Jennings on 3rd down was a super tight window. Mullens couldn't make that throw.

So his first real NFL action was versus his childhood team (MIA), then his first start was against the GOAT. I think the proper way to end this season is a SB win versus CIN (Burrow #1 versus Brock #262).

...here we go.

I've not seen BCB have a velocity issue. Perhaps others have.

Ring is more of a Lance fan than a niner fan. Anyone who isn't Lance has faults that Lance doesn't. Namely that they aren't Lance.

Kyle's system may be considered QB friendly, but only after the QB mastered Kyle's playbook. The old saying it it takes a veteran QB 2 years to mastered it. Matt Ryan struggled in his first season under Kyle and then was the MVP the following season.

I don't even know where Purdy is at right now. Did he managed to mastered Kyle's system as a rookie (which would be incredible), or was he so good that he is able to get it done without mastered it.

I don't think you can master it until you've played in it enough - because of all the option routes and chemistry needed with the players. He's operating it at a high level but he should only get better as he gets more reps. His reaction time, anticipation, reliable plays (2-min drill favorite plays thing), pre snap read. Etc. he does all of it really well so far but he def has room to improve.

the red zone play will most likely improve as well - hopefully as the season goes on. It feels like we are clicking all at the right time, hopefully we pull off the 2012 ravens!

I think Matt Ryan just might be a slow learner.

I would say that throw between two defenders to Jennings on 3rd down against the commanders says his velocity is just fine. If it wasn't that ball would have been picked.

Have you seen that be a problem for Purdy?

His deep throws have similar trajectory as Russell Wilson's - which I think is good. It's the best way to try and drop the ball in and mitigates the the potential of it being picked off. Also gives the receiver a chance to go up and get it.

It's not being negative to point out that he has a weak arm. It's uplifting because it shows how he's managed to be successful in spite of his disability.

We have seen some balls die on him these last few games and we haven't really seen him attempt many difficult throws that would require him to throw with higher velocity.

As to the former, that's simply untrue.

As to the latter: Proof? Cite? Video? TIA.

Jimmy G played backyard football in 2017 and looked good.

He looked bad in 2018 before the injury. Maybe that has to do with him not trying to play under Kyle's system but hasn't masted it yet.
