We should learn our lesson. Bosa wanted to be paid like a champ and we did and he ain't. Aiyuk wanted to be paid like a champ. He ain't but we did. Purdy is now up. He should be paid $55M because he ain't a champ has regressed this season and has some physical limitations and is now prone to injury. We can't make him highest paid as we did Bosa and we've still not won yet

Tf you talking about, our d was putrid without Bosa, just because we wish he would finish the sack doesn't mean he hasn't lived up to his deal

Reasoning aside, I can't see how paying Brock 55 million is 'learning the lesson.'
Do not pay this dude
this whole injury thing is weird. did he even confirm when during the game he got hurt?

something is off.

supposedly he suffered it prior before making it worse this last game (diving on the shoulder on his TD & trying to truck two defenders)

"I don't want to say there's long-term concern," Shanahan said. "We thought he just needed some rest and we really weren't concerned about [him] not being good this week. But when he started up Thursday, it just surprised him, surprised us with how it felt. So, we had to shut him down. I really don't know what to think of it. ... But the way it responded this week, it's really up in the air next week. We'll have to see on Monday."

Shanahan added that Purdy could not point to a specific play where he hurt the shoulder in last week's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. But Shanahan noted that Purdy's shoulder felt tight during the game and led to him spending more time warming in the game than he usually would.

things that make you go, "hmmm"
The players are all tired of playing on a dog door team that isn't going anywhere. They have all accepted their fate this season, it's over.

Purdy's agent probably told him don't risk your payday, shut it down.

This team is washed, the rest of the season is meaningless. Start the rebuild.

I don't think we get away from not paying him. It's what the league dictates. All these schmoes get max paid regardless of ability.

He'll get 60m. The Niners should make it a team friendly contract where they have an out after year two with minimal salary cap implications. Instead of a blank 60m 5 year deal that locks us in. I don't know how that works contract wise but I hope Paraag comes up with some type of loophole that lets us break free if Brock isn't the one.
