He's missed in key moments and can't find the end zone. I'm not sure where that puts the team but clearly Purdy hasn't improved this year and regressed. He's not elite and likely in the top 5 to 10 QBs. Is that good enough? I guess…but he needs players around him. They need to toss Deebo and CMC needs to rest. Also need oline help

Can you name a QB that is successful without good players around him?

My line about that is Purdy regressed but still needs help. Deebo and oline need to be addressed.

How has Purdy regressed? He lost his best wr who was also struggling and now all his WRs aren't exactly running 4.3's. You guys just say anything

i call it a sophomore slump
just not a good year. league seems to be catching up to him, he's injured, he's not getting much on his passes, so he floats em over the middle to the point that teams jump all that in breaking stuff. they know it's coming. now he is a gamer who moves well and isn't afraid to take some chances and he can make some plays. he's earned a deal but its hard to say he's much better than many other qbs going right now. the fact we flubbed a historic window seems like a major opportunity lost. never getting QB1 that cheap ever again that's a once in a lifetime.
Man I have watched a ton of football overall.

If I was going compare purdy to anyone it would be like promoted backups. His arm is not powerful at all. His vision is limited is downfield accuracy is abysmal. He throws good quick hitters and can scramble. The diff from him to Sam darnold. Is darnold is dangerous downfield. And it's why minnesota is 9-2 and not 5-6. I'll admit to being along time fan of both teams is mn is the local team here in North dakota. But when I was a kid I loved the explosive offense of Steve young fun to watch. This move the chains but if we get a holding call we're f**ked is hard to watch.

Darnold has a far better arm and is having a stronger season this year. that's just the reality of it. it would be interesting to see Kyle's O with either a lamar type QB to get massive rush yds per game as a team or a strong arm QB. play action off the KS run game and shoot it downfield. seems it will never happen. they tried i guess with lance but he was the worst QB of all time basically.

I agree with the once in a lifetime but that window can absolutely be extended if they backload his deal in anticipation of an exploding salary cap (which will happen). It won't affect his cap number next year (I don't think) so we definitely have that cheap contract for 2025 and can likely structure it so that 2026 is on the cheaper side as well.

yeah they'll do some major deal with brock backloaded with a opt out after maybe 2 or 3 years. i do think brock shows you want talent at that position. we had talent last year in darnold and didn't need him. now we do need talent and we have this allen and no good dobbs. so next year maybe draft a QB or get a lil more serious in the QB room for depth.

Purdy is a fluke he threw alot of short s**t

He didn't. Like, statistically proven he was near the top of the league in yards/attempt.

His OL and WRs have been worse, and he's not as good against man as zone. Plus his last game at this point he was throwing with an injured arm.

He's still a solid young QB. If somehow he avoids getting assassinated by a crazy fan he'll be here for a good while.

And frankly, his next contract should be partially considered backpay. If he gets $50m/year I'm personally gonna consider $20m/year of that as backpay for 2021-2023.

I don't like the talk about a shoulder injury and arm fatigue and soreness and also with Brock just coming off the elbow surgery.

that's why i say it was like brees. brees had this with San Diego and they got cold feet around contract time he was injured.

Agree.

Also, if he manages to avoid? Lol that was a little strange to read.. it's not like he is political or a Beatle, he is the hometown, Kohl's kiosk guy lol.
