Captain Shovel Throw: If it weren't for the media, everybody would be talking about how he gets carried by his defense and special teams. The media decided to hype him for certain reasons we can't discuss on this forum. He plays for Andy Reid, who has succeeded with every mediocre and scrub QB. He is a dink and dunk machine who hasn't thrown deep since Tyreek Hill, the fastest player in football and a 1st ballot HOFer, went to the Dolphins. Tua's numbers now look the way Captain Shovel Throw's used to.

Josh Allen: He has periods where he can't hit the broad side of a barn because his footwork is terrible.

Justin Herbert: Checkdown merchant. Poor downfield thrower.

Joe Burrow: Good, but stiff. He can run in a straight line but can't create the way Brock can. He's the only guy who might be more accurate than 2023 Brock.

Lamar Jackson: A running back. 20 years ago he's a poor man's Michael Vick.

C.J. Stroud: Look at how he is doing this year. Lacks intelligence.

Matt Stafford: He is the king of the accuracy/zip combination when he's on, but he's not the greatest deep thrower.

Tua: Stiff. When the rush gets to him, he sucks.

Goff: Stiff. When the rush gets to him, he sucks.

I actually appreciate Mahomes for the way he plays. Classic WCO that made guys like Roger Craig into borderline HOFer. I wish Kyle would force that kind of offense on Brock. Use CMC and Mason and Kittle in the short game then when the defense condenses throw it over the top. It's the best way to solve teams that blitz often or like to play zone.
You really weren't around or watched the last 8 years with this comment

Brock leads the NFL in air yards per attempt and air yards per completion.

Captain Shovel is 31st in those categories.
I'm not questioning that, I said awhile back.. is that Kermit has dropped off

my comment was for the homie with an extra chromie

The stats are just inconvenient to you because you're wrong.

It seems as though his 92 season stats were inconvenient to you. And again, this was a player in his 30s who you acknowledged had to tone his running down, lol.

I didn't cite rushing yard averages as a means to make an argument about Young and Brock's capability. You did. And you shaped the comparison as much in your favor as you could (omitting 92 shows that clearly).

Definitely not circular reasoning on my end. And I'm not pushing a media narrative either. I am joining the rest of the football watching community on Earth in arguing that Brock isn't the best QB in the NFL.

Appeal to majority fallacy.

You can't think for yourself. Thanks for demonstrating that.

Also, even if I granted you that Young was a "much better" runner than Brock, but just didn't use that ability any more than Brock for some reason, it's irrelevant. You laughed at the idea of Brock having game-changing mobility even though he creates plays all the f**king time with his feet.

I very clearly acknowledged he has the ability to extend plays and called it a real positive. It's what separates him from a pure 'game manage' style QB.

You don't need to grant me anything, lol. You're out in left-field here and just because my opinion (that Brock is not the best QB in the NFL, or has comparable mobility to Young), is shared by others doesn't mean it was taken from others. You're flailing.

Except I know your opinion was taken from others, because anybody who knows anything whatsoever about football would come to the same conclusion about Brock last year based on watching him.

Also, your claim that Young was more accurate than Brock was last year is laughable. You've never rewatched Young play. I know because you wouldn't say something like that if you had.

Young was off-target all the time by today's standards. Maybe you can say he was more accurate for his era, but that's about it.

And you don't think he was completing easy throws most of the time? LOL. Seriously...go watch his 18/20 game or whatever it was against the Lions. It's on Youtube. Tell me what throw he made in that that Brock couldn't have made.

Anybody who knows anything about football would conclude that Brock is the best QB in the NFL by a landslide based on his play in 2023.

I guess you're the only one who knows anything about football then. Feel free to show otherwise!

I saw a comment that said, "Brock is top 2 and he ain't 2."

Wasn't mine.

Most people used to think the earth was flat.

Lol. Very compelling. Stay flailing brother.
I would normally piggy back on an whine post like above...

I'll save space and not quote the novel above...

I can, however quote 49er Superbowl o-lines... And I totally disagree with the value of a stout line...

I also think Purdy is a more then franchise QB, with his attacking mentality...I can't think of a QB that would benefit more from the best online he can get.

Yeah he is going to get hit from free blitzers, every QB does...but at least a great line can help make that a predictable rush from the edge instead of instant pressure from the middle

I agree with the once in a lifetime but that window can absolutely be extended if they backload his deal in anticipation of an exploding salary cap (which will happen). It won't affect his cap number next year (I don't think) so we definitely have that cheap contract for 2025 and can likely structure it so that 2026 is on the cheaper side as well.

yeah they'll do some major deal with brock backloaded with a opt out after maybe 2 or 3 years. i do think brock shows you want talent at that position. we had talent last year in darnold and didn't need him. now we do need talent and we have this allen and no good dobbs. so next year maybe draft a QB or get a lil more serious in the QB room for depth.

Or finally address the C position and let go of this "every play has an answer" nonsense.

I'll settle for something better than the 38th best C in the league.

we did address it, but that ended quickly

they knew center was weak, but the line was enough to get the team to the superbowl... I can get the idea of keeping the group together and hoping for betterment from familiarity... we seen lines gel with time and the whole being better then the parts....

but

There has to be plans inside of plans... there has to be depth that can challenge fringe starters.

I get the idea that entrenched starting Left Tackles do not grow on trees....but guards and centers? Nah...dude....we constantly see guys come in and be functional.

I am 100% behind our front office and Shanny....but forecasting depth has to get better, and as just a random fan...I totally expect a line overhaul next year..

I hope for good to great line play....but if we have to watch an often flagged center that gets beat flat footed...I would much rather watch a rookie with beast measurable adjust to the NFL that has his ups and down than a "proven" fringe NFL starter with no upside.

No team has any real OL depth.

We successfully upgraded at right guard and even had a veteran lined up who could have been an upgrade at center. He just hit season ending IR without taking a snap this season.

Its to bad. Feliciano was taking snaps at center during camp. He was going to be that guy. Bad luck for him and we get Brendel instead.
