Or holding onto your assets because it's a business and he makes no money next year?

What good does that do you when it's not building towards the future?

Fine, trade him instead of cutting him. Same difference. Point is this offseason is when you put up or shut up. Kicking the can down a year does nothing except make the relationship worse between the QB and the team.

3. Replace both.

Nobody is saying 1, but based on his 2022-2023 performance I go with 2 before I go with 3.

Fixing the OL should be the main priority Imo and see how Brock does next season before handing out a big contract.

Maybe get the top center in free fancy. Draft a RT in 2nd or 3round pick. Double dip for a C in the 4 and get the best ER or DT in 1st round.

He did have Kittle but he was blocking much of the time. Deebo and JJ were the only options but the Bills were consistently taking them away. No wonder Purdy appeared a bit hesitant at times. He had almost nothing to work with.

Come on, people. Look at what he had on the field around him. What did you expect?

Purdy it was very impressive how he played from the jump. he was like a 10 year vet, game 1. you just don't see that. that said, where would you rank him. this is a league with:

allen
lamar
burrow
stroud
mahomes
herbert
love
stafford
murray
hurts
and rooks like williams
j daniels
maye
nix

he's mid at best probably. and soon to be expensive.
Lower than mid this year.

2 is what we keep yelling into the void and what we should do

only way we do 1/3 is if it's 2026 and some how Arch Minning falls into our laps and we decide he's at least a fraction as good as his family tree

To elevate those around him to be better like a real Franchise QB does.

...like run down and set a screen so one of his receivers can get some separation (they weren't), then go back and throw the ball?

i'll put it this way, they spent 3 ones on lance to move off jimmy. they are scared of being without a QB.
scared?

So you want a different QB ?

i'm talking about the org, which is lynch and shanny. they can't move off brock without going headlong into the unknown. they dont want to do that. QB is gonna cost picks or dollars if it's brock or anyone else. lynch and shanny are both big on brock.
but you posted that they are scared like it's a mistake.. is it a mistake to keep Purdy ?

the mistake was lance. the point i was making, is they knew they needed to move off Jimmy. notice what they did. they burned 3 picks. cuz they knew QB was a huge hole to fill and they threw picks at the problem to solve it. that's telling. they were desperate. that's how they got roped into lance. they won't put themselves in that situation again, of having to find a QB1. they found their man, brock.
so what's the scared statement fall into this if they found their man ?

i was telling folks they are scared to move off him. it would put them with simply no QB1. they would have to do some move like get lance again (or some similar blunder). they don't seem to know what they are doing at QB very well. Jimmy i'm not sure kyle even liked him. lance was one of the worst picks of all time. they passed on TB12. and on and on..

I would have preferred it if he didn't start with the Jimmy G chuck into the middle of the field for an INT that wasn't because of penalty but the fumble was just inexcusable.

Nobody knows how the younger guys like love and stroud will turn out. Same goes with Brock. There was a time when people didn't believe in Allen. Not saying Brock is going to be that guy, but he's on our squad and showed potential. The unfortunate part is he has the resume to get paid paid

Comparing this year to last is a fool's errand. At the start of the season, the best WR he has was #3 last year and no CMC. Piersall has been NO help. No speed to open up the field.

He is the same guy he was last year but the team around him is a big step down from last year.

i'm not really comparing this year to last. i'm just asking who you feel is better at the job of qb, all things being equal. i don't put him all the way at the top or probably even that close.

scared? they weren't scared to be rotating all the QBs that have come and gone tho.

as for TB, passed on him after he had his worse year after coming off a bad year before that.. and we were just coming off a great season with a QB who looked good with his first full year ? Also was TB going to play for peanuts, 30+ dead cap for jimmy and pay TB what exactly ?

Allen
Burrow
Jackson
Mahomes
maybe Herbert
Purdy - his resume is better than the rest.

yeah lynch and kyle panicked into lance. that's what happened. they had no plan and were desperate and they eval'd that guy to be something like mahomes or josh allen. it will go down as maybe the worst draft bust of all time. the fact it was in the middle of a SB window makes it 10x worse. so yeah, i don't think the brain trust behind that doozy wants to move off brock.
