yeah Brock is not superman, but he is a dude you can get high end results from if you build around him. Not that different than Brees or Joe....hell Purdy looks kinda similar to 2006 Brady without the defense and the 100 plus starts to lean back on.
This team still has some talent on the roster, they just have to cut out the fat, rebuild the line.... and recenter the offense on the QB
let's get real on this. comparing to brees or joe? or brady? you just comp'd purdy to like 10 super bowls right here.
Controversial take: I don't think Montana would win many SBs in this era. He probably gets 1 like Brees. Just look at Burrow - the guy is not sniffing another SB anytime soon despite being awesome. Pocket QBs just don't have the rules in their favor anymore. It's all about getting that ref call by playing backyard football.

montana was hardly a pocket QB. that's one reason walsh liked him. he could run and throw on the run.
lions are crushing it this year, and goff is a statue. brady won every sb basically, and was a pocket QB. i can't say i agree with you. we don't do or want a lot of backyard ball here. let richardson do that stuff. if anything brock was doing that too much his run around routine. pro football is best played on schedule. the routes, the protection is all on a schedule.

You've got to have a playmaker at QB in todays game and it's time we dealt with that fact
Kyle was wrong and that's why he hasn't won. He thought he could scheme past talent but he can't. Time to own up to it and go get us a playmaker at QB and we have to not pay so many guys as they're champions when they're clearly not

detroit is basically #1 in the power ranks with a statue. Brock is a playmaker i would say no question. he's a bit like kyler in his mobility, not as much speed downfield but qbs don't use that a ton. he can keep plays alive like murray.

Goff was number 1 overall or at least a very high draft choice if i remember correctly. He's a tall statuesque QB with his only limitation being his mobility. He's not getting balls batted down in the manner Brock has been
I like Brock but I'm not for paying him $60M

Goff is also playing behind the league's best OL. The Lions win in the trenches on offense. Has really helped Goff take his game to a higher level.
The Lions were smart and made it a priority to ensure they got good OL talent across the board to protect their QB1. Wish the Niners would do the same for Purdy.

Purdy just makes everything look hard this year. It's not all his fault. Shanahans playcalling has been horrendous and the OL has been mediocre, but purdy has contributed plenty to this lost season.
When you have a QB who doesn't have a great arm, everything has to be on time and footwork has to be pristine. Purdy has to play nearly perfect for things to work. Not ideal

Comparing this year to last is a fool's errand. At the start of the season, the best WR he has was #3 last year and no CMC. Piersall has been NO help. No speed to open up the field.
He is the same guy he was last year but the team around him is a big step down from last year.

I think the point s...none of these QBs would win any thing with this 49ers team right now. This roster is a mess
In all 3 cases, those QBs had talent around them.
