it's pretty clear in my world they are paying brock and that will be that

I would say start at 25, but be willing to go to 30. Any lower is quite a bit of disrespect.

It's only disrespect if someone else is willing to pay him. What if no one else is even looking at him?

Dallas might take him, New Orleans, Broncos, Raiders, there are a few teams I think that would be kicking the tires at around 30 million.....but not if his shoulder requires surgery.

Broncos would not be interested in Brock. They have Bo Nix and he is playing out of his mind under Payton's tutelage.

Dallas just paid this guy Dak. So I don't think they will be in the market for Brock.

Denver just drafted this guy Bo in the top 15. He's pretty good. May win OROY. Don't think they need Brock.

You beat me to it.

there's a couple teams the MIGHT kick the tires. Maybe.
This whole thread is bananas. Purdy is 24 years old. He's been playing out of his mind for much of his time as a starter. This season the entire roster had fallen down around him yet he's still among the top QBs in football in most advanced metrics.

Compare him to someone like CJ Stroud who a year ago was the next big thing but has struggled immensely this season. Bryce Young's career was over two months ago, now he's looking like a potential franchise QB again. Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold were moved from team to team and are now thriving while their original teams are trapped in QB limbo.

You don't give up on a promising young passer because they had a few down games. The team needs to commit to building around him rather than looking for some shiny new object.

Plus he's obviously playing injured. Idk when it happened, but I start noticing around game 3 lack of zip on his passes, and using the field way less than he has. Hi out routes passes definitely showed he's being affected by some sort of arm injury.

With all that said, I wouldn't be too mad if they franchise tag.

Saying "MIGHT" like that is ridiculous. He was in the MVP conversation last season. Most teams don't have QBs that have ever been in that conversation.

There's no chnce they would walk away from Purdy. They may be reluctant to pay him $50 or $60 million but he'll still get a nice deal.

Brock is a fairly simple guy who probably never thought he would play in a SB. It really comes down to his agent. Realistically $30 million would be fair in ths market. He's good but not a top 5 QB. Maybe he's about 8 to 10.
That sounds right.

#10 puts him at $45M/yr. Kirk Cousins/Deshaun Watson/Kyler Murray money.

However, based on his resume, the market will drive him over the $50M level.

Brock Purdy is a $55 mil year QB, look around the league he' better than three quarters of the starters in the NFL.

this ^^^
If it was any other team than the 49ers I would say no way Purdy gets anywhere above what baker mayfield is getting paid. Baker is better than Purdy. However, we are talking about the 49ers. After the last offseason? I'd bet Purdy gets $55 million plus. The 49ers will again be negotiating against themselves. Hey, if Jed wants to continue burning money, who am I to care?

Titans, Raiders, Giants, Jets, Seahawks and others would all happily pay him.

The same Baker that was passed around by team after team? The guy who has started four seasons more worth of games than Purdy and is still largely a mid level QB? Yeah no.
