I want my franchise QB to win no matter who is out there. That is why he gets the big bucks right?? IMO a franchise QB should be winning 10-11 games each year just based on his skill alone.
So Joe Burrow is not a franchise QB?
Joe Burrow has 30 TDs and 5 INTs with a 107 QB rating and will probably finish with his best numbers of his career. Cincy currently has the #9 offense and #27 defense. Burrow just lost a game 38-44 where he had 112 QB rating and 3 TDs. There are always weird seasons. Prior to this year in 16 games seasons he went 10-6 and 12-4
Would Brock be the MVP front runner if not for the defense?
Why cant you answer the question?

Alex Smith, Jimmy G, and now Brock. I'd be happy if they didn't pay him at all and just let him play out his contract. Do I think the Niners will do that? Nope. I'd bet we give him 60 million plus and next season is a bigger S show than this one. Cause then it wouldn't be a QB that's making Pennie's on the dollar playing
mid level football. It will be a QB being paid like a franchise QB playing average to below average football. It's so easy to see how this is gonna turn out.
it's just not realistic, it's maybe a madden move. in the real world you have to get in the shoes of the guys making the moves. lynch and kyle like brock. jed likes brock. the whole locker room likes brock. imagine if they said oh you make 900k a year, which is clown money for QB1, and then kick him out when it's time to pay? you just lost the locker room, and all those starts you gave to purdy to learn the system were pointless. they are coaching him up for another team basically. then we panic move into trey lance 2.0. so no, we aren't doing that.

"Play out his contract"!!! Amazing how many NFL teams let their starting quarterbacks walk away, isn't it? The guy has played really well up to the last few games and people want to forget how he was playing before. And how he will play again. Thank God you aren't our GM.

the sheer volume of disrespect to do a 'play out your deal' would be staggering so would a tag and so forth. looking at our history that's clearly not how we do business. lot of ppl not being realistic here. shanny and lynch don't want to be at square zero at QB1 like 8 years into their build. they won't let that happen.

They should just draft another Purdy in the 7th round. Apparently QBs like him just fall out of trees.

But now? No...to me, either a QB has got the potential to be a franchise qb or he does not. That should be determined within the first 2-3 years, not after 5-10. in despite of the first two years I don't see a franchise qb in him (anymore) , he doesn't have the mindset for that.
WHAT?
His mental focus is his strongest point. Everyone on the team comments about his focus and mental toughness. His biggest problem is the five guys that squat in front of him on every play...along with injuries on the receiving core.
his time to throw was the highest in the league, haven't checked since GB but he's had time. A lot more time that the last two years. It's not all on the OL
A large part of his hesitation is the lack of his go-to guys, CMC and BA, on the field. It seems Kittle has been used to block more this year than last.
No, my point was the opposite. He takes extra time waiting for receivers to open up. In the past, the ball was coming out on time because Aiyuk, Kittle, and CMC were getting separation and doing so on time.

Lol I agree, this thread is bananas. Guy has played insanely well out of the gate and we have a team that is very broken this year..we just rid of him? Don't pay him? Lolol. You guys. What, he will be 25 this month? And the dude has been to two NFC Champ Games, back to back and one Superbowl. And you wanna write him off...lolol. I do think he may be dealing with an injury..maybe the shoulder/arm, there was a point in the game where it kinda looked like something was bothering him. I think one of my few complaints is that he could have thrown it away a few times, when it seemed like nothing was there. I think he forces things a little, though, it's a lot of pressure because our team is so damn broken.
All of these injuries and I guess it's all on Brock lol. Our defense had some great plays out of the gate this last game...then idk, it was pretty bad. It was like when CMC got injured, we kind of folded. Lol he is definitely better than Baker Mayfield..and Daniel Jones, his name is brought up, again? Lol. Other teams would be happy to have Brock and pay him, I still think we got super lucky picking this guy up.
We will be back folks. I definitely see this guy getting a ring at some point in his career. Just be patient, gang. We will be back! Overvalue our players? I have undervalued tbh, at least at qb..until Brock. Jimmy G I was always indifferent on, same with Trey..same with most of the qbs since Garcia. I know I undervalued Alex quite a bit. Brock has been pretty special. I feel lucky to have seen a player this good. We just gotta heal/fix our broken team. I am not saying Brock hasn't had any mistakes but to just say things like, don't pay him and bs like that, I mean? Lol

The separation excuse worked earlier in the season, it can't now. film has shown that the ball should have been thrown sooner or Purdy should have moved off to another open option. He just not making quick decisions anymore and holding on to the ball a lot longer than we're used to.
There's nothing to be upset about, that's what's just happening currently. Hopefully it's just some growing pains and he gets it back together next year

I just said the 49ers will pay him. You'll get your wish. And it'll go to sh** and the same 9er honks who eat up everything the team feeds them will be the first ones complaining. Wha happennnn?
I'm gonna make my call now. We will sign brock and it will go down as a mistake not even a season into his contract. Jones, Lawrence, Tua, Dak, hurts…….purdy.
its all so predictable.

Could be but it's not the end of the world. These contracts aren't fully gtd. We paid Jimmy and did fine nearly won the bowl. Came as close as Brock. Lost to KC. You can move on quick in the NFL

I'm not upset. I am saying the reason he is holding the ball so long is because he has not yet reached the point where he can trust his options as he could in the past.
Remember, due to injury, he hadn't practiced in two weeks. That compounded the problem that was made worse by the fact JJ hadn't practiced much either, and he is a contested catch guy, not a separation guy...if that makes sense.

my take is we pay the man. but i don't have the oh he's Drew Brady delusions either. he's kinda like Jimmy tbh. Jimmy was a very exciting player in 2017. that's why we paid him. and they both target the middle of the field. i guess in the NFL world, Jimmy's are a lot more common than Brees. build around him with some pass protectors and wrs that can get open, see what happens. better start crushing the draft if we want to be taken seriously.
