you build around brock but you always want QB2. 2018, 2020, 2022 we see the importance of depth. Allen may need to be upgraded. Dobbs didn't really work out here.

Baker's APY is $33.3M. Folks love to talk about those numbers. He got $50M GTD
baker was never cut, he got traded to the panthers and then asked to be released. He was a FA after that.
Brock has had one amazing full season so far. This yr he's 19th in comp %, 13th in yards, 19th in TDs, and 12th in INTs. I tried telling everyone that his TD to INT% from his rookie yr wasn't sustainable…anything thing that separated Brock from Jimmy was the ability to score in the RZ, I don't know what the f**k is going on but it's a f**king disaster right now there.
I understand he will get paid more than baker because it's wasn't the same team that drafted him. Brock wasn't some elite level 1st rd pick either. I hope SF doesn't just give him whatever he wants.

you can build around him, you just say goodbye to deebo, juice, greenlaw, ward, among others. guys on the rook contract have to perform. put young guys on cost control deals in a position to get meaningful snaps. coach those young guys up.

Most of the above contracts run through 2029. Hence, we can use these numbers to estimate what Purdy will get. Right now I see Purdy settling for five years at $50M and $170M guaranteed. I believe he will outperform several of those above him if the team can stay healthy but we can say that about any of the others as well - it all depends on health in this team game.

Releasing Deebo, after having extended his contract last season, really only removes Deebo from the team and doesn't free up much salary space. I'm not sure what the Hargrave numbers look like but my guess is we are in a similar boat with him. I'm not arguing that these players should remain on the team but just saying that their impact to the salary doesn't end just because the team moves on from them.

go back to 2017 jimmy was pretty darn good. and if you look at jimmy he never really lost here, or had a down year. he was injured 2018 and 2020 and the team fell apart. but when healthy we were elite. this looks to be a losing season, and brock has played the whole year but 1 game. if you go back on baker i was laughed at for saying he's pretty good, which he is. he had a down period where he was a street FA.
