Let me guess, "Expert" probs thinks Elway is one of the greatest of all time.

Lamar is not a great QB right now in my opinion. When he wins games in the playoffs with his arm give me a call.

great is subjective. i'd love to see him in the shanny system. lots of team rush yds.

OF COURSE he's better.

Stat Paddy is 32nd in air yards per attempt and 32nd in air yards per completion.

How is this still not sinking in? Stat Paddy is the ultimate product of a system.

I know you've been brainwashed by NFL PR department propaganda, but it's time to pull your head out of your ass.

Can you remind what was your previous account names that you got banned on?

I want to know what moron I'm dealing with.

Did you know that in 2023, for the majority of the season, Stat Paddy was further behind Brock Purdy in yards per attempt than Ryan Leaf was behind Steve Young in 1998?

Stat Paddy!

He/she had the same argument with the previous account....something about Steve Young couldn't throw a football more than 50 yards after 1987 or some weird s**t like that. At least I get a chuckle out of the posts.....the complete antithesis of a 'football expert.'

Kyle would pull his teeth out if he had to deal with Lamar. A quarterback that plays outside the playbook ?! That's heresy…

Jackson has improves a lot sonce he came into the league. Definitely a top 10 and maybe a top 5 QB. His passing accuracy is much better and he's still a threat to run when he has to.

True he has improved, but seven years in the league and I swear we keep saying this every season. He's just not a QB you can rely on in the playoffs.

I guess you can say that about nearly every QB other than Mahomes. Allen and Tua have fizzled in the playoffs. Burrow had one good year but has struggled since. The playoffs are one and done so I don't evaluate a QB based on his playoff record. If I did Steve Young would have sucked until he finally got over the hump. Too many things go into winning a game to put it all on the QB.

But you can't say that about every QB, not every QB struggle with fundamentals. And Tua and Allen have gone one of the hardest roads to get to the Super Bowl, but have shown to play within their systems and not freelance too much. Burrow is 10x's the passer and QB Lamar could ever be, his problem in his NFL career has been health. Sure playoffs aren't solely on the QB, but you need a QB who's poised and can make the clutch throws when they matter. If your goal is to win a Super Bowl then give me a QB like Burrow all day. But if your goal is to just be a winning team during the season then Lamar Jackson is your man.

Not really. I rank Elway about where I rank Bradshaw. Good, not great. Overrated because some fans just do not get that arm strength doesn't matter.

BTW, prime Bradshaw could've been the greatest running QB of all-time. Dude legitimately could've been a RB.
As it pertains to Brock's contract, I'm hoping they sign him to a 4 year deal (with an out after year 2).

The biggest argument the Niners have is if Brock were to be a free agent what could he get on the open market? I think it would be a contract similar to the level between Geno and Baker.

We have a great case in point as well: Jimmy G was in the 5-10 ranking in terms of advanced qb stats with Niners/shanahan. Once he left he turned into a backup at best.

I like Brock but we can't lock him down too long term just yet, particularly given that no other coach would likely want him (if Kyle not here).

Brock's contract should contain certain incentives and IMO should not exceed $45m. Even accounting for league inflation, I think 50m or more is too much.

Statistically, his second year was nearly identical to Geno Smith's 2022. 30+ passing TD, 11 INT. What's scary is his stats this year look like they'll be similar to Geno's stats last year (20-9 ratio), and that's with less talent around him.. Brock does have the argument that he's younger, so.. If you ask me, I'd give him a 40m deal with 5-10m in incentives he can reach like obtaining All Pro, MVP, and/or Super Bowl accolades.
If NE agreed, would you give up a 1st for Maye? He looks like he will be good.

Otherwise, let Purdy play out his fourth year without a new deal (Unless he agrees to a Mayfield type deal vs 60 million).
