All but gtds kyle ain't going anywhere either. Not like that was a real thing anyway

Best for the 49ers if they both stay. Brock has earned his deal. KS has earned a couple more years at least as well.

Agreed

What point are you attempting to make here?

If you take away most team's starting QB, their QB room becomes pathetic. Including ours.
If our team is healthy we can get by on our back ups

Are you out of your mind? The 49ers can get by with Brandon Allen and Josh Dobbs "if our team is healthy" (whatever that means)?
You've seen it first hand in 2022, well I assume you did

These are stupid conversations.

Did we forget how the Ravens didn't completely unravel when Lamar got hurt in 21 and 22? How the Chiefs didn't just completely implode when Henne had to play for Mahomes in the playoffs?

If a team is good enough and "healthy" enough they can withstand losing even those guys. If the team has holes mediocre/bad QBs will make them much bigger.

Without Lamar the Ravens still have Derrick Henry. Without Mahomes the Chiefs still have their defense.

Take Purdy out of this team and we're getting our asses handed to us on a platter.

People have to stop worrying about other teams. Purdy is here. I honestly don't care about him getting top X recognition. As long as he's helping us win games that's all I care about.

how's Balt's 2021 season not unraveling when it ended with Lamar hurt and adding a large losing streak which they missed the playoffs
or Balt's 2022 season ending in another losing streak to be a one and done in the playoffs

and how is KC going to unravel with Henne playing only one qtr?

After Purdy's brief showing in Mex City, no one was confident in him to do what we did to finish the season.

I'm more confident that we can do more than other teams with a back up QB when healthy was my point.

The lack of quality combined with the sheer volume of how much you post has made NT unbearable these days.

Jimmy G in 2022 was light years better than Brandon Allen and Josh Dobbs are now. Brock Purdy was a godsend in 2022.

Stop trying to discredit Brock Purdy. We all know you have some unhealthy obsession with Kyle Shanahan but get real.

"These days?" This has been going on for a decade with 49att lol. I thought for sure that us drafting and having a franchise QB like Purdy would get him over the hump. But... nope.

I see comprehension isn't working for you guys

Nothing in any way have I said/implied that Purdy is an issue on this current topic with teams playing backups

lol

So you implying that we would be fine with a backup QB if the rest of the team was healthy is not a knock on Purdy? Lol okay.

If you can read, I said we can get by.. not saying we will be the same or better

now I did say we would be even with playing Purdy over jimmy before the trade for CMC

Not sure what "get by" means but the drop off from Purdy to any backup in the NFL is substantial. Straight forward question though to gauge your thinking on Purdy - do you think we should give him a big contract extension ($55M-$60M per for 4-5 seasons)?

lol I don't care what they give him

again.. this has nothing to do with Purdy ! Lol

Kyle Shanahan is 9-29 without Jimmy or Brock. He is not Andy Reid. He can not succeed with mediocre QBs.

Ah yes, Andy Reid, famously known for winning super bowls with quarterbacks not named Mahomes.

We don't know what this team looks like healthy...

If everyone was "peak" performance mode....yeah I think this is a winning team with a back up QB. Hell Shanny had a run with Mullins looking like the second coming of Dan Marino and was flirting with a 300 yards a game season. It's plausible a backup QB could have a winning run if everyone was healthy and performing well enough.

That is almost a fantasy in the NFL...injuries are a thing, and this schedule is brutal. I have never seen so many short weeks, and one team playing so many teams coming off their bye weeks.

Brock will be fine, they will circle the wagons for next season. This is a blessing in disguise...Brock is getting a crash course in adversity...I am sure in the long run he will be better for it. Let's hope the powers that be, recognize what they have in Brock and build the team out in a more traditional manner next season

Show me the list of good teams that have a winning record with a backup QB. Any team forced to go with their backup for more than a couple games is in trouble. The salary cap prevents teams from signing and keeping a decent backup. Some bad tems might not show much difference or maybe might be better since their starter probably isn't very good anyway.
