And what's Andy Reid record without Donovan McNabb and Patrick Mahomes?

50-26 with Alex Smith in KC.

i was really impressed by that. he was such a dud here. even with JH he was better, but he was extremely conservative. basically a just don't turn it over QB, with near zero playmaking.

Alex in KC was as good as Jimmy if not better. No comparison between him and Hoyer Mullins or Beathard.

What's his record with the Kevin Kolbs of the world.

102 TDs & 33 INTs with 17,608 yards and 94.8 QB rating. Including 1672 yards rushing and 10 TDs. Not a bad career with KC. Was on pace to go well over 100 career wins if not for that terrible injury in Washington.

Being ultra conservative with Jim helped his career after dealing with a revolving door of different coaches/coordinators tbh

yes. it was like baby steps. step 1, learn to protect the football. that's a great lesson for any QB at any level. you have hands on the ball every play, and you have to protect that ball. once you can master that, you can graduate to actually making plays out there. he took a step under harbs and another step under reid. then with mahomes it took many more steps. mahomes is truly amazing every time i see that guy. zero drop off from him, maybe the guys around him, but not him. when you compare brock, there is some similarity to how natural he plays the game and moves around and avoids the rush. mahomes is just a lot better of putting it on guys and all over the field with the live arm.

I gained a whole new respect for Alex Smith hearing him talk at the QB event earlier this year, him, Brock, Garcia and Steve.

It's kind of insane how badly we tried to fumble that kid's career. Granted he had fault to share in that but we did him no favors in setting him up for success early in his career.

Andy Reid got a good player but a limited one. It wasn't until 2018 when Alex, on a great offense when Alex knew he was basically going to be replaced with Mahomes that he really let it fly and had put up MVP like results. So listing Alex like a scrub to prop up Andy is bizarre when we saw him go 19-5-1 under a competent HC with a solid team around him and then still manage to go 6-4 in Washington and then 5-1 AFTER his awful leg injury.

Andy Reid is a good HC, nobody is questioning that but my goodness let's not act like the man is Bill Walsh.

come off it. Reid is 4th all time in wins. armed with Mahomes he's on his way to the top. we'll see if he gets there. he's a legend. not merely good. this KC team is a dynasty team like the pats, 90s boys, and so forth. that's just reality, not a fan of saying it but let's not deny what is real.

He'll be right up there with Walsh when he hangs them up. Walsh going to get the nod among 49ers fans of course and probably rightfully so given his impact on the league overall.
I love it: "ESPN analyst predicts massive contract for Brock Purdy." Yeah, no s**t, bro. Way to go out on a limb there.
When Goff, Lawrence, Prescott are making 55+mil Purdy is going to make the same or more. He's a top 7-10 qb and deserves it (market rate).

$65 million per year to play football? That's insane. Purdy doesn't deserve to be the highest paid QB. He hasn't played long enough and hasn't lead the team to a SB win. All this will do is drive up salaries even more. Fans need to be prepared for BOHICA.

All these salaries in sports are insane nowadays. Only thing I can go with is it's not my money.
atleast the qbs aren't getting baseball type money yet.

Well even the 9ers had a good record with Alex Smith. Sure he was with Shanahan but again even Shanahan has had good records with more than one QB. It just shows Reid has been around longer.

But Shanahan has accomplished just as much if not more in their first 7 seasons as HC.
