It was one of the most horrific decisions of the year. In one of the biggest moments, the guy choked. I'm really freaking tired of this.
He's trying to do too much. In college he got himself in trouble trying to play hero ball the same way. He had open receivers throughout the night that he passed over because he was locked on to someone else and was throwing into coverage too often.
I agree, and it's concerning that it's still a problem. He admitted he threw it without even knowing where Jennings was. I feel like Jimmy had a lot of success in close games here because he'd take the short options unless something was clearly open deep.
Jimmy would have a lot of WTF throws when he tried to scramble or was under pressure and didn't want to get hit. Brock is killing the team with greedy throws and he's done it all year. I hate to be that guy.. But it feels like it's just who he is, and it's starting to feel like it's not something we can fix. A better OL doesn't fix this issue.
I love all Purdy's attributes.. Except that one. But if this is how it's going to be, I don't think I can accept that as our franchise guy. His natural talent is not on the level of the top guys in this league. And when we need to hit certain plays, or protect the ball in tight games, a franchise QB can't continually let his team down there.
He did it twice against AZ. He did it against Seattle. He did it three times against KC. He did it again last night. At some point, if you don't f-----g learn from your mistakes, you need to be replaced. I'm still sour from the loss. I had a lot of belief in the kid, but I've lost a lot of faith in him. Not all of it, but a lot of it.
