Look at everything he has accomplished. But we know for certain, I guess, that he isn't elite, about as good as Baker, system qb, etc. He is still young and developing. Dude went to the Superbowl last year and 2 NFC Champ games in a row and I guess, that is now swept under the rug. Lol. Everyone loves Purdy when he wins..then wants to kick his ass to the curb after a loss. I mean, it's nuts. Lol. No patience or understanding.

Brock Purdy and Drew Brees in the same breath 😂
Sorry folks, he is gunna get paid and probably more than you want him to lol

You guessed 5 years at 40 million per with outs. I don't think that fits Montana's view and I also think most fans would live with that number. That is a bargain compared to market rate for a franchise QB.

A Baker contract, 3 years/$100 M. That's closer

My point isn't that Brock is anything close to Drew, its just how great Brock has been at such a young age. Lets give the guy some time to develop and see what he can become. Dude is young AF

People are too impatient for that lol. We live in a Panda Express society, ppl want s**t now. Kap, he had the arm, the legs..but would get lost in the sauce. I wasn't big on him. I defo see Brock as a better processor than him. He has got a lot of good years ahead of him I think. Whether it's here or another team.

He's had 40 starts counting the 6 playoff games. He has 4 years as a starter in college. That's a lot of experience. If he was a young gifted QB like Allen or Jackson tha thad to learn how to read defenses or process what was going on then more starts might help. That's not his issues. Most people that support him like the way he processes the game. He understands defenses. His problems are more on the physical side and those can't always be fixed. He needs to understand that you can't throw 40 yards downfield just because a player has a yard or two seperation. Not when you don't have the velocity needed to get the ball there before the DB can recover. Makeup speed is a real thing in the NFL. DBs are often faster than the receivers.

I just don't see a lot of things he can improve on. Like I said he's not a raw project. The thing that made him able to do well quickly is he had a lot of college starts. Same as a couple guys that were drafted this season. Combine that with a loaded roster and you get quick success. He didn't have the problem tha so many good young QBs have. Getting drafted high by a crappy team with a poor coach is the kiss of death.

I'm not saying they should move on from him. At least not now. They need to have a shot at landing a better QB before they think about that. Until themn he's good enough to win most games as long as they are healthy.

Agree. His physical limitations show up especially in bad weather games.
He can't beat man to man and he can't throw in the rain, big limitations

Rain is true, but guys dropping very accurate passes is on them, not the qb.

Yes, but I think we should franchise tag him for a year or two. He is not going to hold out. Not going to take the chance of another QB having an opportunity to look good (stat wise) with our weapons and offensive QB friendly system. His performances in the weather do scare me, but I have also seen him make strong passes in those games. His arm just seems inconsistent, but I do wonder if confidence plays a part.

I still believe in Brock, and I do feel Kyle's coaching has put our players in position where they are pressing...trying to do too much.

There are 15 QBs around the league getting $40M/yr or more. Purdy is better than half of them. He will get paid. 5 years, $150M guaranteed is the starting point.

Every pass he throws is not accurate. He's so much better in zone by anticipating. I don't remember ever seeing him throw a back shoulder pass.

The issue is we would be negotiating this offseason and couldn't use the tag. Will Brock hold out if they don't extend him this offseason? If not, then there's no issue here. We get another year to evaluate him.
