Yup, been saying it. Hasn't been right since week 3. Those out routes are the biggest give away.

Damn, I believe you guys, I gotta go back and actually watch this now

Not so easy to play quarterback without CMC.

Every QB to play with CMC in Carolina was horrible.

Just like every QB to play with Barry Sanders for 10 years, with the exception of Scott Mitchell in 1995.

Most of the great RBs played with QBs who did horribly.

Crediting CMC for Brock is laughable.
Just let him play out the final year of his deal and see if he returns to his 2023 form. It's not like he can afford to hold out. He's making peanuts right now. Like others have mentioned, his arm doesn't look right and has regressed from average to just plain bad. So they need to find out what the cause of it is and if it can be fixed. Was it the injury and just hasn't healed and just needs offseason rest? Is it something that will never completely heal? Or has his arm just regressed?

These are all things they won't know about until September. The problem is he is going to want an extension long before then.

this is pretty stupid if his arm is jacked up. nfl doesn't play with failing to report injury. there's a lot on the line each week for that. yet we did pull some pretty clear shenanigans with cmc. he was 'questionable' then IR'd for a ton of time. still i don't think we would not report an injured brock, has he been on any injury report? he has been throwing lollipops all season.
We won't give a huge extension to a guy that can't play in bad weather right?

I've been saying this for a while. When a QB has to have his arm in a wrap on the sidelines between offensive series somethings not right. Concern is, is this a lingering problem that will continue to exist or will it get better.

Damaged goods
Before the Bills game they showed us inside the locker room and Brock had that damn UCL massager thing on his arm before the game while in uniform. He's not right.

that being said the only intelligent move is to put a 4 year 120 contract in front of him and tell him his option is playing out his rookie deal or finding us a first round pick before the draft for him.
Resetting the market. Yikes. Talk about a terrible move.

No it's not. Teams are very hesitant to play man coverage against CMC. But without him, no problem, Purdy isn't great against man

I can't stand this stupid s**t anymore.

Does NOBODY see that he has repeatedly struggled to even get the ball 40 yards when putting everything he has into deep throws, whereas last year he threw it as far as 55 yards?

You think he just randomly declined in 15 yards worth of range for no reason?

It's not just the Pearsall throw. Watch the Bears throw with Jennings. He puts everything he has into it and it barely makes it 40 yards. It's a completion, but badly underthrown, causing Jennings to have to wait for it and reducing the gain.

How about how badly he underthrew Juicecheck on that wide open deep ball?

Last year, when he missed a deep ball, it was always an OVERTHROW.

He literally set PFF records for deep completion percentage last year. I'm not sure what his ranking is this year, but he was 1 for 8 against the Rams. I'm guessing he's heading towards the bottom of the league. You think that's normal?

You think it's normal that a guy goes from being the mobile version of Drew Brees to sailing balls 10 yards over the head of receivers standing 2 yards away from him?

Or throwing behind guys who are wide open underneath?

What does ANY of that have to do with "da playerz around him?"

Do you think his f**king guys were 10 yards tall last year?

The supporting cast isn't the reason he's gone from threading needles while throwing when guys are only halfway up their stem, and hitting guys in the numbers every time, to being unable to hit 2 yard throws.

Do you people even watch the games, or just read box scores, ignore what actually happens on the field, and try to draw bad logical conclusions based on what dorks like Nick Wright and other people who never played football say?

He was so accurate last year that multiple former players and coaches were comparing him to Joe Montana.

This year, he can't hit the broad side of a barn.

He's INJURED. INJURED. INJURED. INJURED. INJURED.
You know….I gave this some thought and went back and re-watched some games. The kid is physically limited. The question is how bad and is it fixablle? Is it a new injury or is it related to the Philly frauds hit he took? If he is damaged with permanent limitations then he is not worth an extension and it's a moot point because the team would not offer it. It's a business decision at that point. Lets just hope he is playing through something that will heal. The alternative puts us back into the qb market which we all know is a crapshoot. Injuries have haunted this team for the last 9 years. It's not the only reason we are where we are but it's a big part of it.

Cam Newton had his best season outside of his MVP year with McCaffrey running/receiving 1900 yards and 13 TDs

Agreed. Been saying that and noticing it since exactly that time frame. He's been floating them and last year he had far more strength and zip. And this is welllll before the shoulder injury. As you said, early in the year there was a switch.

Finally, a post from you where I agree with a chunk of it. I think he is likely injured too. The concern is, what exactly is the injury..the old one, the shoulder one..a mix of both? How long is it going to last, is it going to be an ongoing issue here and there? I didn't see the part of the game where he wore an arm contraption again..which game was that? Seattle? I missed a chunk of that game.
Guessing it was the heating compression thing again. Which, I guess makes sense in a way. It's cold and humid in Seattle..not the best for an injury. He wore that in Seattle last season too. Guess things got tight, cold and needed some heat. Just hope this isn't something to be more concerned about and that one of the best qbs I have seen in my lifetime, stays healthy and can continue to play ball for a good while. It would be a shame otherwise:/.

Purdy nots worth top tier QB money bottom line at this point. Has he ever really taken over a game and won it? Has he won the big games? I don't believe he is the answer long term but I'll admit I could be wrong, but the jury in my book is out on him. Then again, I think the question really is do you trust Shanahan and Lynch to be able to draft a franchise QB? They blew it with Lance . . . jury is still out on Purdy I think and I do think he is injured and they are not letting that out. Let him play out his year next year and then let's see where he is . . . let him earn the payday in a convincing way in 2025 and then pay him if he shows he's worth it. If not, start looking for that franchise QB again . . .
