Purdy has got to be injured, for him to sit out a game is very unlike him..I mean the guy played incredible with a broken rib against Seattle. Like it was nothing. Dude is tough as nails, something is wrong with the arm/shoulder I think. He isn't himself. Maybe we will find out more after the season ends idk. And yeah, Purdy is better than Dak who got what, 60 mil? Oof. Lol. Purdy will get market money and there will be several posters having meltdowns over it lolol.

I don't make excuses for our players just because they are a niner. Every QB is hurt this time of year. To say purdy has been good this year is homer talk. He's had maybe 3 games I would categorize as good. The rest have ranged from ok to horrendous. Don't care too much about what he did last year or 2 years ago.

Itll be interesting to see how we negotiate this. I don't blame purdy or his agent asking for top $$ but I'd be extremely wary if I were the niners because purdy can't play in bad weather and apparently any bump or bruise turns him into a mediocre qb

There is no doubt it plays a factor. The player gets bigger in muscle mass, but the ligaments stay the same. You got more mass working against those ligaments and they reach the breaking point sooner. What happened to the Niners this year and especially in 2020 is a joke. It's a major reason for me, why the NFL product has deteriorated severely over the decades.

Completely different teams. Purdy has looked like ass this year without being surrounded with elite talent. Team record is pointless. The talent the 49ers have on offense is insane compared to AZ. I guarantee the majority of NFL teams would take Kyler over Purdy. Being 49ers fans many of course over value their guy.

James Connor is better than Jordan Mason, their WR's are better. Trey McBride isn't some chump TE either. You would think Kyler Murray being drafted #1 overall would elevate his team more than the last overall pick.

I'm a Purdy fan and i think It would be idiotic to pay him a penny over 50 mil per year.

Then you're not a Purdy fan. Lol
I think a lot of people are delusional thinking we're going to sign Brock cheap. I predict we'll sign him for $60m per year, and we'll do it right after the season. He won't hold out if we're matching the highest paid, both sides will understand it will be beat within weeks, we've made up our minds to keep him, and he will only get more expensive if we wait. The longer the contract, the cheaper he gets.

We made Garoppolo the highest paid at $27.5m. That didn't last long. Difference is we paid him on 5 games playing loose and not to Kyle's formula. When he was asked to play within the system, we learned (way way too slowly) that he couldn't do it. None of that applies to Brock.

The leverage is always with the quarterback. If you don't pay him, when you know he has value, you are starting over trying to find one, and that is Always a trial and error hit or miss proposition that usually takes years if you're smart, and never if you're not. End result is that you are often better informed deciding on whether to bet on improvement on the guy you know than anyone you don't.

We're not letting Brock go, we're not going to save money waiting, and we're not going to cause Brock to miss any of the off season.

You know what we Are going to do? We're going to quit letting old guys like Trent with no future hold us up when we already made the deal to "take care of his family". We're not going to let above average receivers like Aiyuk hold us up for top money. We are going to trade these guys while they still have league value for draft picks, and we are going to get younger and hungrier and cheaper and deeper. Keep that young talent coming in, and avoid getting stuck being too needy on your old veterans that miss too many games anyway. If we don't, we aren't getting back to no Super Bowls, and replacing Kyle will no longer be contentious.

Lynch, make it happen, because Kyle loves his favorites, and he won't. You already have that power, and if you don't, you too will be on thin ice.

About 45 per is right in his wheelhouse IMHO, PROBABLY closer to 50 but that's just inflation.
The next top 5 guy will probably be in the 70-80 range with inflation

Purdy is not a top 5 guy

Pay him $100m a year. Who cares. As long as there is an iron clad year three team friendly escape clause. And there will be.

Well, that's right. We will trade money for out year insurance. And I don't think Brock will think that that's an unfair trade.

Oh goodie, another clueless user who thinks he can do a drive by 2 line post and it'll hide his cluelessness.

Of COURSE the current PEDs lead to more injuries than they did in previous eras.

Guys used to use simple anabolic steroids, which caused far fewer injuries, and far less severe injuries, than modern PEDs.

Guys are getting season ending torn pectoral muscles, an injury that was virtually unheard of 10 years ago.

Guys tear their ACLs right and left, including many non-contact injuries. I could run 2 hours every day on a football field and never tear an ACL.

The ACL tear was uncommon until the 90s, and it has only become more and more common as time has gone on.

Achilles tears used to be pretty rare. Now they're all over the place.

People used to blame astroturf, even though astroturf was used for decades before these injuries took off (and many of these injuries took place on grass), and they have only continued to increase since astroturf was replaced.

so good that he completes them to the defense

I'm not sure how to even respond to your "logic". So you want to throw the bank at one of the top 8 or 12 QB's in the league, and then sign the kicker, and only then sign a bunch of inexpensive scrubs for the rest of the team because they don't really matter anyway with their low impact and will get injured, so pay them peanuts. Got it.

Well, I guess we can agree to disagree. End of the day people on this site want the 49ers to win. I really don't think your idea will work, but that is just my opinion. Cheers!

Tell me about all of the superstars the Chiefs have on their roster.

Tell me about all of the dominant defenses in the league, and the successful teams that are serious contenders to win the Super Bowl with their dominant running games and average starting quarterbacks playing in average offensive systems.

Tell me about how dominant the Titans were with Derrick Henry, or the Browns with Nick Chubb.

A lot of fans think that the 49ers need to find some superstar center, and that will fix the team's problems. The Bills literally cut their Pro Bowl center before this season.

You trade Aiyuk and Brock is gonna continue to look mid. Aiyuk made Brock better and we've seen how he's looked without Aiyuk this year. Jauan is fine but he's not the receiver Aiyuk is even though Aiyuk is probably not a top 5 receiver in the league. We'll see if Pearsall and Brock can get some chemistry going forward but it's just too soon to sign Brock to a long term extension. One really good season isn't enough
