First - I wouldn't pay 60M.

We have him for 1 more year.

IMO - he needs to prove it for that potential franchise killer deal.

I'd rather get Sam Darnold for less $$$ and aggressively improve the OLine thru FA & the draft.

No we aren't. Tua is Brock if he had no mobility and crumbled under pressure, among other things.
Just for fun . . .

Tua , in 2022, led the NFL in . . . TD%, Yards / attempt, passer rating & MVP candidate. In 2023 led the NFL in yards, in 2024 leading the NFL in completion %

Purdy, in 2023, led the NFL in . . . TD%, Yards/attempt. passer rating & MVP candidate. This year has struggled.

Are they really that far apart? Don't make the mistake the Dolphins did.

Purdy would probably be better if he had the Bengals weapons, no? Or is Purdy the only QB in the NFL who gets knocked for having good weapons?

Burrow has had had Higgins for like 8 games this yr. So it's been a s**t ton of chase and whole else? He's the 3rd most pressured QB in the league. They have a horrible OL and their defenses sucks dick.

Comparing what we had last yr to what Burrow has right now is a joke. Brock wasn't even the highest voted MVP on his own team.

look saying he's not Burrow, doesn't mean he sucks. It's not one or the other…so stop making it that

How many of the other top 5 QBs have Olines as bad as ours? You can't count Trent in full time because he's been gone get stretches. Same for Banks.

We have backups at LT, LG
Center needs replacement badly
Puni is the only positive
RT is a backup player/joirneyman at best.

Also first 3RBs out, #1 WR out, #2 Deebo huge drop off.

Brock's consistent help has been Kittle and Juwan and both have missed time.

The OL overall isn't as bad as people keep complaining about. Yes it needs some talent put into it but….

Brock Purdy currently has the 11th lowest pressure %, he's right next to Lamar and love. Hurts and Goff are both higher among a whole s**t load of good QBs.

Mahomes leads the league in pressures. Goff, Lamar, hurts, Herbert, burrow, Stafford, CJ have all been pressured more than him this yr.

all that said he's 3rd overall in time to throw. Dude isn't seeing the field well this yr.

also who are Josh Allen, Mahomes, Herbert, Jackson throwing the ball to? They don't have elite pass catchers and I'd said none of them have stud RBs besides Baltimore.

The numbers don't match the eye test for me. Brock has created those times to throw by extending plays and running around. Goff a statue can stand immobile and survey the field for example, Brock needs to avoid the pass rush then find who's open.
Brocks season isn't as good as last year. Not sure if they've figured him out, he's hurt, or he's in the shotgun instead of play action.

Last year was a special year no doubt, but as far as WR's the Purdy detractors vastly overrate our guys. Deebo does not fit at all with Purdy (he was a pick to fit with Jimmy G) and Aiyuk is not a true #1. Kittle's strength is his blocking so his receptions come when teams aren't expecting it. Building the team around Purdy and surrounding him with route runners who can catch with their hands will elevate the offense.

Not having BA has shown how important he is to this team. Saying he's not a #1 is dumb. He's been missed greatly.

Trying to act like Brock is playing with nothing is also ridiculous. Kittle is currently the #1 ranked TE and the #1 ranked pass catcher at TE in football.

The film doesn't lie, Brock hasn't played well this yr…no everything isn't perfect around him…we shouldn't have to have some elite roster top to bottom if everyone thinks he's some elite guy.

the lions paid goff, now what do we think of that 'mistake'? it's about what you put around your QB. goff is no magic QB, he just has a lot of talent around him.

i just don't see any world where you don't pay QB1, QB1 dollars. let us suppose we abandon purdy and sign some daniel jones for 1 year 10 mil. ok, if he stinks our team stinks. if he does well, ok, now we have to pay him. simply no getting around the fact that your QB1 will want QB1 dollars. you may get a rook or a reclamation project, but if those don't work, you are screwed. if those do work, you have to pay up.

Goff has been pressured more. Numbers don't lie. They depend on the running game and PA just as much.

brock has only been hurried 26x all yr. So no he's not just running around extending plays. He's holding onto the ball longer than just about any QB in the league. He's not seeing the field and he's trying to push it downfield all the time. He did it in college as well. He's got some stuff he's got to work through.
I would trade a healthy Aiyuk and Deebo for Chase, tbh. But, Bengals would never though. I also, would trade Jennings, as much as like him,for a T Higgins.

Sure but add in TE RB and run game.

I'll take our set of weapons all day every day when healthy. Only the Eagles rival the group.
Regarding Brock, do we really have to make a decision this off-season? Seems like a majority of our da base believes it's this off-season or nothing.

We still have him under contract for one more year. And after that can place the same tag Ravens placed on LJ. Two first rounders or sign him to market value.

If Brock comes to the table with his mind made up this off-season with being paid top dollar I would punt it until next offseason and make him prove it one more year.

100 percent what I would like to see happen.

It's crazy to think we'll ask him to come back and play for a million IMO… and more than crazy it's unlikely he would without having a threat to overtake him on the roster. I imagine we have plans on trying to win next season. Need a QB for that.
