Once again instead of answering my question. You deflect to something else… you know there isn't team that would give us meaningful trade compensation and pay Brock $250M. That's what you want answer it.

As far as Lamar goes. was never getting moved, it was a negotiation ploy and they wanted another team to put together a contract and work from that. He also doesn't have an agent and tried strong arming him.

NY, I agree with you wholeheartedly about Ben Johnson. He is the hot name because his team is doing so well this year, while ignoring everything else.

But......this is EXACTLY what you are doing with Purdy. Its almost as if you forgot he was playing at an elite level when he took over for Jimmy in 2022. Its almost as if you forgot he was playing at an MVP level last season.

So while I agree, you cant just use this year to judge Johnson, that is essentially what you are doing with Purdy. Cant have it both ways.

If Brock plays bad for a season and good for a season, how does that make Brock an elite QB? I think that's an inconclusive or too be determined at this pt. Last yr could have been an abnormality/his best season of his career. Or it could have been what he will be despite the poor play this yr. No one really knows.

I mean he wasn't even the highest voted MVP on his own team last yr. That's how good this roster was.

Dak was the 2nd overall in MVP voting, are we calling him some elite QB that should be making $250M? I mean his resume is much better than Brock's overall if we're looking at numbers. I know no one thinks much of him in here.

I don't think Johnson is a bad coach or anything. I think whomever hires him they would hope he becomes as good as Kyle.

If we're looking at numbers? Yeah let's look at numbers like how Sam Donald is probably a top quarterback this year cause he's playing that way right??? Look at the numbers . Give me a break. Stop trying to prove your point when you're not right. In no way whatsoever is Dak better than Purdy. Absolutely none. Especially in the playoffs when it counts. That was so laughable.

By the way, Purdy didn't just have one good year. He played pretty amazing his rookie year those five games as well as a playoffs. But yeah, let's disregard that. I'll trust people that know football like Kurt Warner and everyone else over somebody that claims to like Brock Purdy, and give backhanded compliments and at the same time take digs whenever they get a chance. Anyways

He was elite in terms of numbers and efficiency. That's a product of the offense as much as it is his skillset. Just a special year. Basically a full season heater from Kyle and CO.

It was a quality season all around, is that something they will be the norm with him under center? That's the debate. We know Kyle can do it with multiple QBs.

I like Brock, but this season kinda showed some of the deficiencies I warned folks about. I still think he's got a chance to be one of the better QBs in the league, he's gonna have to have a quality roster around him to make it work. That cost money. We will see.

I think his point was the numbers don't tell the full story. Dak's numbers have been great in multiple years. He's not an elite QB. Neither was Brock. He's a good QB in a great situation.

I would do everything I could to force Brock to play the last year of that deal personally. I'm sure they'll pay him this offseason.

my god the ignorance and fan bias.

so Brock's 5 games in 2022 are more meaningful than Dak's 3 seasons of throwing for over 4,500 yards and over 30 tds? No one is saying Dak is elite, I'm saying his overall resume is absolutely better as QB. That was also more about the MVP stuff. Dak was 2nd in voting last yr. CMC was 3rd.

Sam is playing well this year. Why is that a bad thing to admit? He's playing better than Brock. Actually quite a few QBs are this yr. Brock has one bad season one great season and 5 good games before that. In what world does that determine what he is? Objectively those are some mixed results. It's surly isn't a no brainer he's an elite QB who should be getting a quarter billion dollars. If he played for another team or if we were talking about a different player you would agree.

I'll ask you the same thing…if SF said he's available via trade for a couple 1sts, what teams are lining up to give that and pay him?

Yup, I agree on both parts.

Look this is my point. I'm not disagreeing that Brock is gonna get paid…probably massively overpaid. It's how the position goes.

my point is SF shouldn't have to be prisoner of that "next man up" contract negotiation tactic. He hasn't played well this yr, that's just a fact. That shouldn't equal top 5 contract ever talk.

yea you can navigate through the cap. Acting like there will be zero repercussions after paying Brock & him not being in that elite class is simply not true…last season could have been his best season ever, if you're betting on him being that and more in the future fine. I'm not 100% in agreement there.

It SF said hey Brock is available via trade, we want a couple 1sts (you know going rate for a good young franchise QB) does anyone think there's teams in the league lining up to give that up, just so they can pay him?? I highly doubt that's the case and folks need to think about that.

Still nothing in this 🤔🧐

No team will offer even offer 1-1st and pay him $50/60M. Purdy has no leverage in that regard.
NYG & LV are drafting QBs. NE, JAX & Car have their QBs. TEN-CLE-NYJ-SEA-PiT > all bad weather teams, nit a fit for Purdy. NO-MIA , stuck with mid QBs on bad contracts. Offer him mid money only.

Nice argument

To me it's pretty obvious he's been injured for a while this year. After the 3rd game, I just starting seeing some noticeable drop in his velocity. A couple weeks later the game plan changed and we saw a lot less outside the number throws and much less deep passes.

Purdy didn't just forget how to throw the ball, there's something going on there that we probably won't find out till the season is over.

So my worry now isn't his ability at all, when healthy he plays at a very high level worthy of a big contract. Health is my concern when it comes to giving him a big contract.

Lamar hasn't even been to a Super Bowl, let alone lost one. By the zones standards purdy is much better than Lamar.

not aimed at either poster above, but as a group we contradict ourselves to make terrible arguments all too often. Hell, Jimmy > Lamar by our standards

force him to play?

he could just sit until week 1 and screw the season like some other individuals did this year

He never had great velocity to begin with. Dude had been pushing the ball downfield all year. Nothing has changed imo. He has the 5th highest IAY ( intended air yard) in the league. Bro is pushing it ball downfield a lot.

If he's really that hurt then he shouldn't be playing in a lost season while getting ready to get paid.

You think that move is gonna get him paid more money? Coming off a bad year and sit out?

Why does SF have to overpay everyone? Why does SF have to pay him Dak money? At some point recognize you have leverage. Tell Brock to go look for a trade (if he wants to be paid $250M) like BA did and see if there's a legit team that's gonna give him Dak money and trade capital, I'm gonna go ahead and say that no one is gonna do that.

I know he won't get a Baker like deal, he sure as s**t shouldn't be getting a Dak like deal.
