Brock wasn't Brock this yr though. Him sitting out for Dak cash coming off this season isn't a great move on his part either.
like Smokey said there's been zero inclination that's a thing from either side.
glad one year doesn't define one's career right
Say he holds out and is "forced" to play the season. plays the same as this year and never really turns out to be a great QB. He may not get that huge payday anymore, but he still will get a lot of cash (to you and I) as being a gap/back up QB.
This could be his only chance at a huge contract, why would he not hold out for the most he could get.
I don't think it's a crazy idea that he will play out his final year without an extension. But I do see an extension being the more realistic option. This is the time to do it as well while he's having an off year, because his current performance isn't worth 60mil a year.
If we can do something around 45-50mil that would great, and there can be an opt out for both parties in 2-3 years, which helps Purdy as well to renegotiate a bigger contract if he goes back to his last years form.
If him and his agent are adamant on a contract that resets the QB market, then he plays out his final year and we go from there.
