He has done absolutely nothing. He's a joke. He didn't make a single impressive throw or run the entire SB. He did nothing impressive in any of his SB wins.

Games 2-8 of their careers. Left year 1 off both because they didn't start all the games that year.
Pretty similar, does this mean Purdy is WAY better, not even close better than Montana?

You're doing it backwards.

Montana played in a much tougher era for offense. Brad Johnson also played in a much tougher era for offense, yet somehow, the bus driver/game manager for the Bucs had comparable numbers to AMAZEBALLS Stat Paddy this season.

He has had piss-poor numbers the last 2 seasons, and people still talk about him like he's an untouchable.

At least Lamar Jackson, though a fraud who would be a running back in another era that wasn't so dumbed down to let retards like him succeed, has the numbers.

Saying that Brock is nowhere near a joke like Stat Paddy is ridiculous.

To me it's pretty obvious he's been injured for a while this year. After the 3rd game, I just starting seeing some noticeable drop in his velocity. A couple weeks later the game plan changed and we saw a lot less outside the number throws and much less deep passes.

Purdy didn't just forget how to throw the ball, there's something going on there that we probably won't find out till the season is over.

So my worry now isn't his ability at all, when healthy he plays at a very high level worthy of a big contract. Health is my concern when it comes to giving him a big contract.

You're exactly right. He's definitely injured. I've never seen him float long balls like that. He missed a couple touchdowns to our rookie, and he under threw quite a few other times which he did not do the first couple years unless he wanted to be safe and make sure it was a completed pass. Tua is oft injured and they still gave him the bag. Same with Dak. So we are kinda stuck in this situation but like you said, at least we know he has the ability to play elite ball. He also improved his scrambling ability and made some excellent plays this year (thanks in part to our horrible pass protection with some people on this board would say is pretty good haha).

All we can do is pray that it's properly structured to help and protect us as best as possible.

The jags were committed to Lawrence even before the gave him a bag. #1 overall pick and supposedly "generational talent" that had glimpses of good play with a bunch of meh.

If teams could give up the same compensation and contract for Lawerence or Brock. I bet there would be more teams going the Lawrence route. Not saying that's right or wrong, that would be my assumption though.

Yeah because teams are stupid. Brock has been exponentially better than Lawrence has so far. Brock's bad stretch is fairly in line with Lawrence's typical play.

Yeah, that assumption about Lawrence is dead wrong. Any talent evaluator, coach, GM, player would know Lawrence isn't even in the same league as Brock even if he has better size and strength.

everyone is having a down year.. and if your QB isn't in sync, it just makes it harder.

49ers are 32nd in average receiver separation.

Kyle Shanahan teaches QBs to take downfield shots as much as possible. He used to chew out Jimmy for successful checkdowns.
Shanahan wants the drive to continue via short, intermediate or long. Take what the defense gives you.

except for those times where he knew passing wasn't working, so he ran

I'm not sold on this. That being said why has he regressed? O-line for sure. Skill player injuries and guys who can't beat man? Coaching? Injury? He loos indecisive compared to the past two years. Feels odd to me.

I watched all the games thoroughly this year. I won't be watching any of the remaining 3 games because I don't like watching preseason and I don't like watching games that don't mean anything.

But to sum up this year - the 49'ers were not good and Brock was not that good. I can't remember feeling such a lack of faith that we just cannot score. Everything was such a struggle.

When I think about Brock this past few years, I remember a lot of bad games he had when he was just so bad.

Last year I remember his struggles at Cleveland, home against Cincinnati and home against Baltimore. He was bailed out at home in the playoffs against Green Bay and Detroit by bad turnovers by the other team and bad coaching by Campbell.

Then in the Super Bowl he had so many missed opportunities of not getting any points. And when he won the coin toss in overtime, his face lit up as he was so excited to ask for the ball first. I have never played football but even I knew the overtime rules were college football and Brock I know played college football and should have known you want the ball second after you know what the other team does first.

And then this year has obviously been a disaster for Brock.

Brock does a lot of good things but he is not elite and should be paid accordingly.

Everyone knows the top five, $60M/year QB's don't have any bad games.

Lol, I mean I do think "Stat Paddy?" Lolol is a bit overrated/hyped but to say he is a joke is quite the stretch lol.

That being said, SP did get lucky a few times js..but a joke? Did nothing at all? lolol

These threads are hilarious this week.
