I think his SB wins/games in particular..got lucky, looked average. We could have easily won against him but....sorry, cough, Shanny s**t the bed. That was part of the problem anyway. Not down playing Mahomes' successes as a qb but those trophies really should have been ours. Major fail. We f----d ourselves hard.

Why are we knocking Mahomes to prop Purdy up? There is nothing overrated about Mahomes and his resume. He went through arguably the toughest playoff gauntlet of his career last year, beating the cream of the crop in the AFC on the road, and came out on top against us.
His Overall resume is great, but i would take Chris jones from the chiefs if I could poach a player from KC
Are we seriously at the point that we are trying to minimize Mahomes and call him overrated? He is an amazing QB. Do the refs give him too many calls? Yes. Is the announcers practically blowing him all game and even during other games extremely annoying? Absolutely. Nobody hated it more than me when Josh Allen scored the great TD against the 49ers and the announcers randomly started talking about it being Mahomesesc but come on. Hate Collingsworth, Buck, and Romo for that s**t not discredit Mahomes

Star marquee player always get more hype and more calls that go their way. It's human nature. We've seen it with Montana, Favre, Manning and Brady just to name a few.

Interesting. I've been extremely hard on Purdy for his performance this year, and I think deservedly so because it's mainly been decision-making.

That said, this indicates, he wouldn't look as bad if our receivers weren't performing so awful. But Burrow and Darnold would look even better too.

I think Cowing should get more reps and I don't question his work ethic. If he's still not ready, or is ready and isn't getting time, both are on the position coach Hankerson. Curious if we see a change there.

There's been a good amount of balls behind the receiver , so it can go either way

We don't know how Cowing is looking in practice. He may be having trouble learning how to block and hs routes may not be crisp. He might be just a one trick pony with straight ahead speed. I think he would be getting time at WR if he was showing in practice that he deserved it.

Still puts Purdy in the top 10 like basically every other advanced metric, which puts his value in line with Tua, Love, etc

He's a smaller guy so it wouldn't shock me if it was blocking. We all know it's no block no rock.

QBs aren't being paid on their value anymore. Every new contrct has to be the highest. That's the new normal. It's wrong but that's how it is.

Brock has 17 drops this yr according to pro-football reference.

For perspective, Rogers and Herbert have the most with 29.

What metrics are those?

he's 17th in comp %, 15th in TD%, 9th in INT%, 12th in succ %, 15th in QB rating. PFF has him as their 17th overall passer.

mayfield's wasn't. Darnold's won't be. Jones wasn't. Carr's new deal wasn't etc etc.

I'm guess Brock's deal will be similar to love/tua even though both those guys got paid after having their best seasons. Brock's the opposite there….he shouldn't be getting a deal like that. Is what it is I guess. It's why you gonna win a SB when the QB is on his rookie deal because they get stupid money even when their not at that elite level.

Advanced metrics are worded so that those who support them can look down on those who use the basic stats that every QB has been evaluated by for decades.

In reality they are just "additional" stats that give you more information.

But the Lombardi's of the world use these stats to tell you the sky is green, here's why, when everyone can see the sky is blue.

Yeah I mean I would call things like succ % TD and INT % "advanced stats" anyway

EPA gets tossed out there all the time and most people don't even know how that s**t works.

Lombardi is suck a dink…he screams high end San Francisco entitled brat. Some of the s**t he posts is so insufferable.
