I dunno why you people engage this obvious liar.....he trots out childish names like 'stat paddy' yet claims he's been watching football since 1977. What kind of person of that supposed age - starting at mid 50's - 'speaks' in that manner?

The Chiefs lost close playoff games BECAUSE of Alex Smith. As soon as the Chiefs started Mahomes, they went from a playoff team to a perennial SB favorite.
If you want to continue this discussion, move to NFL talk. I cant believe I even spent time replying to your nonsense.
Not really, considering Stat Paddy had no business being in the Pro Bowl last season based on his numbers and performance.
No, Alex Smith actually had good numbers in multiple playoff games. You gonna blame Alex for the 45-44 loss to the Colts?
Alex had a phenomenal first half against the Colts. An all time performance. Of all the games his team lost, he probably deserves the least amount of blame for this one. But he did next to nothing in the 2nd half when a first down or 2 would have won them the game. Like I said, if you want to continue this conversation in the Chiefs thread, I am happy to.

There isn't a single person who has ever cited that drive or that play as a reason we lost the game, genius.

where's all the needle threading this yr? Dude is 15th in completion %.
If you were an expert you'd understand that defenses have been playing 2-high on Mahomes for years. Instead of him forcing balls downfield he's taking what defenses are giving him AND winning…end of the day when it comes down to winning the game he shows up and does just that.
You know who's had similar numbers to 2023 brock? Kirk cousins on multiple seasons. I bet money you were calling him the best QB in football.
Yes, threading needles. You know nothing about football.
Ryan Tannehill only started 11 games. Ryan Fitzpatrick started 8 games, and his numbers were largely garbage time. You're not even trying now.
Brock is clearly injured this year.
This "2 high" narrative is laughable. Yeah, Stat Paddy is the only guy who faces 2 high. He just can't help but put up borderline Christian Ponder yards per completion and air yards numbers!
Also, they're not scoring that many points, either, which is what's most important. They're WINNING because of defense and their kicker.

That play is the reason for the "his 4th quarter is the worst ever" narrative. That interception is what leads to that passer rating. That's how heavily passer ratings weight TD/INT ratios.

People who actually understand football don't cite passer rating to judge QB play based on a single quarter much less a turnover in garbage time.
People who don't understand QB play and football think QBs like Purdy are the best in football by cherrypicking stats as you do.

Good to know you agree NYNiners85 doesn't understand football.

I couldn't care less about the arguments....he's an alt that had the same argument previously about how Purdy's arm strength and referenced how Steve Young never threw a football 50 yards in the air past 1987 or some s**t like that. He reminds me of the teenager on the recent NFLN commercials who 'knows everything.'

Oh he's clearly injured based off what?
What a b******t cop-out. Kirk put up similar numbers multiple years and no one was calling him the best QB in football.
lol oh the 2-high safety is laughable because it totally s**ts on your narrative and shows YOUR lack of "knowledge" on football. Meanwhile teams dared Brock to push the ball downfield all last yr. He had literally one of the best rosters in football in the past decade.
You know who consistently had a high yards per attempt? Jimmy G. One of the most hollow stats in football. s**t doesn't factor in YAC. Brock Y/P in 2022 and 2024 are right around 8.25.
there isn't a single person in the world of football that takes Brock over Mahomes. Quit with the simple jack takes, dan Kelly.

Except NY didn't cite passer rating to support his argument as far as I saw. You're the dunce who can't get past team oriented numbers.

Based on the fact that he is struggling to even get the ball 40 yards downfield now when he had 55 yard range last year. Based on the fact he missed the Packers game.
Kirk never put up similar numbers. He was never even close to 9.6 yards per attempt in any season. Kirk is also a guy who folds in the pocket when teams have a good defense against him. He can't create like Brock.
Yards per attempt is the LEAST hollow stat in football. No stat is perfect, but only football novices think a bunch of volume statistics like "yards" mean anything. Ryan Leaf could throw for 5,000 yards if you let him throw it every down.
Nobody ever "dared Brock to push the ball downfield." I'll bet you're on Jonnydel's timeline on Twitter insisting that teams play "stacked boxes" against the 49ers because you don't understand how Kyle's condensed splits work, and how teams react to condensed splits.
Jimmy G was a good QB. Just couldn't throw the deep ball and is made of glass. Trey Lance, whom you LOVE, is literally the worst QB in the history of professional football.

Regarding Purdy and what you've seen in his overall game as a QB, where would you rank him right now in the league? Top 10?
Do you see him as this team's definite franchise QB going forward? Or, do you want to see more from him before making that determination?
Just curious about your thoughts on Purdy to this point after watching him his first 2 1/2 years. I, like you, have been a diehard Niners (and football) fan since the mid-70s. Even played, but just a little.
