QB Brock Purdy Thread

Question. Who is out there that is better than Brock? Is there anyone in the draft? Is it Darnold? One good year does not make Darnold great if thats the case then Brock has had two of those. So who do they get?

So should we just settle and pay an average qb? Keep taking shots in the draft until you find The guy. I'd consider giving Brock a very modest pay bump on a one year prove out deal. In no way am I giving him a longterm deal.

"Darnold the winner" with that 21-35 starting record before this season...
Not worth 50-60M.

I like him but been too much "YOLO" this year.

Needs worked on this offseason.

In all fairness to Brock, he has outplayed his rookie contract by leaps and bounds. He was winning playoff games while making less than his backup QB's.

I think he is owed for what he's done, remember the elbow injury he suffered while making less than a million dollars on the season???

How can we possibly justify not paying him top dollar after Dak's contract? Letting him walk out the door would also make us look cheap and silly since we don't have a replacement for him.

Here's the thing if the 49ers feel like they can pay him and keep this team intact then that is what they will do. Remember some of these players are getting on up there in their NFL timeline, so I expect some to be replaced with younger players in the next few seasons. I always say to myself it's not my money so why should I worry about what they pay a player it will do me no good I have no control over that. But it does make for good point counter point conversations.
We went from one play away from being a Super Bowl champion and having our franchise HC and QB for the next 15 years to being losers without either

31 other teams out. We picked him. Without us he wouldn't have received $1m a year. I don't feel like we robbed him. $1m a year changed his life and so did the 9ers. That doesn't need to be pay him top because we got a steal. We saved him from being undrafted and threw him $1m a year.

He should get a contract with an impossible to out escape clause. Probably in year three. That gives him a couple more years, maybe three if next year is an extension.

The 9ers should be careful and not hit that top dollar payday.

Not really, I don't like the losing either but Purdy & KS can get it done if we make the correct decisions in the draft and free agency moving forward.

You don't pay someone for what they've done but for what they will bring and he's showing declines not growth in his 3rd year.
Possibly another player taking the niners to the salary wood shed based on one good year. Seems to happen a lot here.

Not true, he was being played like a practice squad player while we were in NFCCG's & the Super Bowl. How do we not owe him for what he's done?
