There's QBs that transcend and he's not it. I really like him as a person so this is hard to admit, but please do not pay him. Move on

No team is giving up on a 25 year old QB that has had a run like he had in his first season and a half. By the same logic you'd also agree on cutting ties with CJ Stroud who had an amazing rookie season and has struggled immensely at times this year.

Whether or not they end up sticking with Purdy long term, they have to make quite a few upgrades as is. That should be the priority, not pressing for QB in a dogs**t year for QBs in the draft or bringing in someone expensive and old like Cousins.

We might end up brining in old and expensive cousins if Purdy holds out and demands the moon.
Purdy is not gunna demand something astronomical, I srsly doubt it. But if ya dnt want the guy to get paid or have him on the cheap..keep dreamin folks. And have meltdowns when he gets paid, by all means lol

2 guys blocking 1 and Campbell comes up the middle untouched.

Yeah the protection calls are suspect

As far as Brock goes, I feel like his footwork and timing are not what they were last yr.

Defenses know his tendencies. I think his footwork and timing are unchanged but teams took a page out of KCs playbook in that Superbowl and figured out to dupe Purdy. As many like you have posted in various threads, yes he has a bad oline but he just makes horrible decisions at the most inopportune times. Forcing balls that pretty much games that could have been won. He's just not an elite quarterback and it would be suicide to sign him as such…

Can't pay him 60. If he will take a Baker like contract 3 yrs for 30 million a year plus incentives that would be ok but he should get nowhere near 60.

Baker is his comp and Baker is playing much better than Brock this year.

Rumors of Joey B wanting to be traded from Cincinnati, if that's true and he does demand a trade this off season trade Brock, Kyle, and move the earth to get Joe.

First of all, where are you hearing these rumors?

Second of all, that's not happening in a million years. It's a $68M dead cap for Cincinnati…

Which he undoubtedly will. Anyone that thinks Purdy will be the "aww schucks" guy during contract time is living a pipe dream. His agent is going to pull for 60+ and can't imagine him taking anything under 55+.

I think fans need to come to a realization that IF the Niners are dumb enough to commit that much money to a non elite QB that needs a great supporting cast around him to excel, we are in a world of hurt. This team about to go from Hollywood to just a bunch of players with likely a shell of CMC, a shell of BA, a shell of Deebo, and a great TE in Kittle. I don't think an upgraded oline is getting you an elite MVP Purdy that will carry this team on his shoulder to a SB victory.

I won't meltdown, but I'll be disappointed like a dad who just watched his son finish 3rd in the 100 meter freestyle just after walking in on his wife sleeping with his real estate agent friend he suggested after seeing him once 16 years later at the bar

Yeah I think purdys performance is only going to get worse. He has a mediocre arm and if everything isn't perfect for him, things go bad.

Beyond that, the one thing he had going for him was good decisions. This year, he has consistently made terrible decisions.

It is what it is but we are completely f**ked if we give him an extension. I don't even just mean the money. It's a waste of time to have him as our QB in the upcoming years when we could be searching for our long term QB.
That int hurt I just don't get it with the time left. Watching game in person it seemed like every play was real difficult, not much easy stuff for him. I just can't believe coaches haven't reeled him in and gave him more easy dink and dunk plan like tua had. All season been chucking it down field instead of taking the easy 5 yards.
Do a 5 year 250 deal done soon and give him until the draft to think it over.
If he says no then just draft a QB and start Brock for his last contractual year. Rook starts next year.

I just can't imagine many teams are lining up to reset the QB market on Brock Purdy.

Having a really bad Oline dictates the things you can and can't do.
If he is truly a 60 million dollar set the market Qb then he should also bring multiple high picks in a trade. Can't be one without the other.

The issue is even top 5 picks won't necessarily work for shanahans system. He needs a borderline genius to master the offense so his viable pool of draftable QBs is like 1/10 of everyone else's.

There might be one QB out of the top 10 prospects who would work for him.

Your basically saying rebuild it and tear it down for a third time if you do that. IE now your back to 3 year turnaround of suck...

Shanahan will get fired before year 3 if he has 2 more losing seasons in a row...

It sounds like a viable option but it's not when your tear into it...

He had another guy underneath wide open. Hero ball strikes again

Calling this hero ball is demonstrating that you are clueless.
Funny how a term I used means I'm clueless.. but what I pointed out today, last week and the on going season shows I'm not.

there's absolutely no reason to go there when there's enough time on the clock and the defense is giving everything underneath
